Reviews for Madison Blake

From Night Owl Romance - Reviewer Top Pick:
"Ms. Blake pens a passionate story [Playing For Real] with entertaining and intriguing characters and steamy romance. She has created believable, fleshed out characters that seems to jump of the page and an imaginative plot that reaches out and hold your attention. The sexual tension and spicy ménage a trois romance, she blends perfectly with the bonds of trust and friendship. This is a page-turner that I didn't want to put down and a fabulous addition to my keeper collection. I definitely recommend this book and can't wait to read it again."

From The Romance Studio:
[In Love In Mysterious Ways] Madison Blake has taken a smoking hot tale of fantasies and desires between a husband and wife and turned it into a well-crafted, emotionally-driven story of love, attraction, curiosity, and finally sexual honesty between husband, wife, and lover… The sexy shenanigans between the three literally scorch the pages with their explosive passions and sensual play while offering enough variety and spice to ménage play. Any reader who enjoys their erotica with a whole lot of kink will want to devour this one up!

From Dark Angel Reviews:
Perhaps Love is a touching and heartfelt story couched as a fantasy… The plot sequence of this story is tautly-derived and well-written. Scene flows into the next with no choppiness and the reader is captivated immediately from the first paragraphs. The characters of Esmeralda and Orin are especially well-delineated… Perhaps Love is a story readers will be happy to find and will wish to reread for its emotional content and sensual stimulation.

An Interview with Madison Blake
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Madison, thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured book, Psychic Heat.

MB: Psychic Heat is the story of telepath journeywoman Rhiane who works as a translator at the Federation of Intergalactic Commerce. She loves her job, which involves facilitating commercial transactions between two parties with no common language. Therefore, she is alarmed when she suddenly suffers from blackouts. Alarmed that she may be losing her psychic ability, she seeks the help of a master healer--Morgan--not knowing that she had a steamy one-night stand with him and his mate Jaden about six months ago.

Sparks fly when they meet again, and this time, Morgan and Jaden aren't willing to lose her again. They will do anything to make sure she stays with them, no matter how hard she resists. However, someone else may be after Rhiane as well, and it's going to take all their skills and strength to expose the villain and to protect Rhiane at all costs.

HH: A telepath having blackouts and the two men who she once shared a sizzling night with. Where did you get the idea for this steamy story?

MB: Very easy, I combined all the elements I love! I've always loved reading about characters with psychic abilities and having two gorgeous men's attention, so I put them together, and voila! Psychic Heat came into being. Also, I've often wondered how it must be for a woman to yearn for men she thought she couldn't have, and for those men to continue tempting her. As for the futuristic setting, I've always wanted to create my own version of it, and now I have. *grins* I'm planning a sequel, so I may explore further and flesh out this setting.

HH: What do you like best about Rhiane and how do you relate to her?

MB: I like her passion for her job and the things she was willing to risk to make sure her psychic abilities stay intact. Not because Rhiane's a workaholic, but because she loves to help people by using her abilities. As for me, I have the same passion for my writing, and though there had been lots of opposition to it, here I am still writing, hoping that each work I deliver would bring a few hours of enjoyment and escape to people who read my books.

HH: How did you approach world building for this project?

MB: Since I'm writing about psychics, especially with Morgan and Jaden being master healers of the brain, I had to read up on the parts of the brain. In the course of my research, I realized I had studied all these before...in biology class and how much I had forgotten. Practically everything. LOL But it was fun to refresh my memory, and in the course of reading, I had some great flashes of ideas that added depth and credibility to the story.

HH: What else do you have in the works for lucky readers?

MB: In July, At Long Last, Love would be published by Ellora's Cave. It's a sweet, romantic yet erotic love story. It's about two souls who were forced together, only to discover love and romance in their enforced proximity. There are also twists and surprises along the way, which I won't mention so as not to spoil them for everyone.

I've also some works under consideration, but no contract offered yet, so it's a bit premature at this point to say anything about them.

HH: What's your favorite type of story to write and why?

MB: My stories are a mix of paranormal, fantasy, contemporary, menage and traditional pairing, so I guess these are the types of stories I love to write. I can't really pin down to one favorite type because I love variety and I go where the muse tells me. I love to explore different genres and situations.

HH: What are you reading at the moment?

MB: I'm reading Mystic and Rider by Sharon Shinn. I've just started, but it's a sword and sorcery fantasy novel, just the kind that I love. I've heard that Tayse's declaration of love for Senneth is one of the most romantic ever written, so I'm reading to see for myself. Who knows? I may be able to pick up some pointers! :)

HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?

MB: Write, write, write! I have no other goals but to keep on writing the stories of the people who inhabit my head. Weird as that sounds, I've so many ideas floating around that it's hard to turn them away when I'm so limited with regard to the time I can spend writing. So I jot down ideas and notes for future reference.

I still want to write full time some day, but it isn't an option right now. So I guess you could also say I'm working toward that goal.

HH: What are you most proud of in your career to this point?

MB: That I dared to pursue my dream--writing--even when my family is against it.

HH: Thank you!
