Reviews for Defying the Moon
"Cheryl Dragon has very sexy men in Defying the Moon. Ed is a kind hearted animal control officer. He is used to doing odd jobs, getting cats out of trees, dogs out of scrapes, but not werewolves out of people’s backyards. Brian has been emotionally closed off for a very long time. He had a brief fling with Ed on New Year's that he never forgot or wanted to happen again. After all, letting people close was not something he really wanted to do. Now he might not have a choice. He needs Ed for more than just sex. Can Brian find out who turned him before he hurts someone or himself? Defying the Moon will leave you breathlessly waiting for more from Cheryl Dragon in the future." - 4 1/2 kisses, Tina, Two Lips Reviews

An Interview with Cheryl Dragon
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Cheryl, thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured book, Defying the Moon.CD: In Outsmarting the Moon, I made brief mention of the heroine's brother having been the test case for the 'cure' to being a werewolf. Of course the brother demanded he and his boyfriend's story be told as well. It isn't so much about the cure but about finding the right man that made him face all of his demons.

Brian’s life is simple—screw hot guys and catch bad ones. But when the one man he can’t forget rescues him and finds out a secret even Brian doesn’t know, his life takes a new turn. Brian is a werewolf. Desperate to find a cure, he keeps Ed close for protection and turns to his sister, a zoologist, for help. Being so close to Ed reveals all his insecurities but Brian fights his feelings. Out of fear, Brian pushes Ed away one too many times. Only then does he realize keeping Ed at arm’s length won’t make it better. Ed is all Brian needs to face whatever lies ahead. He just has to win him back.
HH: One man fighting a curse and his need for the man who will complete him. Where did you get the idea for this intriguing story? CD: It all spun lovely off the first story, Outsmarting the Moon. Brian is a player and he knows it. He needed a wake-up all bigger than a bad one-night-stand. Ed can't cure him, but he doesn't care. He wants more than the one-night-stand that they shared and Ed is well equipped to deal with a hairy beast in or out of bed.
HH: What do you like best about Brian and why is he perfect for Ed? CD: Brian is flawed. He's screwed up and walked away from a great guy because he didn't see what he had. Ed has a lot of experience with people like that from his rough childhood in foster care hell and working with abused animals. Ed can tell the animals or people pushed too far to trust or love and Brian isn't one of them. It's hard for two alpha males to negotiate their feelings but they understand the deeper levels in each other that make it work.
HH: What do you like about Ed and how do you identify with him? CD: It's hard for Brian to accept the good things about him and that someone else sees them. So even though he starts out as slightly hard to like, you see that soft and hurt side of him that needs someone to lean on...someone who won't use him and walk away. We all want someone who sees the best in us despite our flaws. Brian needs that in an extreme way.
HH: Why will fans of Outsmart the Moon like this tale? CD: As long as they like m/m definitely yes! It's got the same heat, the same instant chemistry, and the same wild ride to the answers.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers, Cheryl? CD: May 5th will be my next release. Her Boyfriend's Boyfriend comes out with Loose Id. A menage with a sizzling cover.
Cassie has found the man of her dreams, he’s rich and smart and hotter than hell! But their sex life is off and he’s not talking. She is determined to get to the bottom of it no matter what it takes.
Neil used to have a boyfriend, Lou, and the two men shared women but never found one they wanted to keep. He never stopped loving and needing Lou and without that man in bed with him and Cassie, Neil will never have all that he needs. He tried to go straight for Cassie and his career but the truth can’t be denied.
Neither can the chemistry between Cassie and Lou. She’s never had two men before. A ménage life, it’s a delicate balance but it’s the only way to satisfy everyone’s intense needs. Cassie demands no more secrets and she wants to explore everything the man have shared and more together…even if it might dredge up issues like where they met these women and who Lou has been screwing since the breakup. With three people in bed, things can get tangled but there’s always someone to turn to.

HH: What's your favorite type of story and why? CD: My favorite kind of story is the character driven ones. I love a juicy plot as well, but when the characters needs, fears, and triumphs drive the passion and the story...those are the best. They just fly out of my mine, onto the page, and the readers seem to love them the best as well!
HH: What are you reading at the moment? CD: Reading? My million emails since getting home from RT. I snagged a lot of good books there that are being shipped but I'm still catching up from being away for a week.
HH: What can you tell us about your recent venture to the Romantic Times Convention? CD: Florida is hot and humid and that particular hotel had the rooms in separate buildings from the convention center. I'd have packed totally differently. Bad hotel to be professional in!! You don't want to give a panel while you feel overheated...yuck.
The good news is I survived and met a lot of great people. Editors, writers, and best of all the readers! I signed stuff and made it through my two panels. The faery court is a wild experience that is still a blur. Now I'm back at work and sad...it all went so fast and I'm more tired now!
HH: What's your favorite type of hero and why? CD: I think we all love the alpha hero. Strong and powerful on the outside. Half the fun is finding the soft side....what made him so alpha and how he bends to the heroine in the end. He can still rule the world, his company or whatever kingdom we pick...but it all stops if his heroine isn't happy. That's what we all want!!
HH: Thank you!
