About Stephanie Beck

Even before she understood what all the thrusting meant, Stephanie Beck loved reading romance. When the stories didn’t end the way she wanted, writing her own was the perfect solution. From ridiculous humor to erotica, Stephanie loves being transported within a story. When she’s not elbow deep in words, her husband and three children command her attention. After they are sleeping she knits or bakes cookies... or squeezes in more writing.

An Interview with Stephanie Beck
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Stephanie, thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Your featured book is Just One More. Where did you get the idea for this sizzling tale of three lovers?

SB: I like menage books, I'll admit it :) I've read many over the years and the ones that have always drawn me are the ones that go beyond sex and into the real world where consiquences for actions do exist. I wanted Gavan, Kit and Adam to have life and love beyond the bedroom and they took me on an incredible journey.

HH: What can you tell us Kit and Adam and how will readers relate to them?

SB: Kit and Adam are parents. Adam is a teacher and Kit is a stay at home mom who is going back to school--how many people live that sort of life everyday? Soooo many. I like stories when I can truly put myself into the characters' shoes. Because I can walk with Kit and Adam I feel with them more.

HH: What can you tell us about Gavan and why will readers love him?

SB: Oh Gavan...he's just so broken. Where Kit and Adam are working on living the American dream, Gavan is still scrambling to make up for his laundry list of mistakes and trying to become the man he wants to be, but has a hard time seeing himself being. He curses and screws up, but he tries so hard. I loved watching him grow in his relationship with Kit and Adam and with his children. He comes alive because he isn't perfect.

HH: What is the biggest challenge an author faces in writing of a relationship where more than two people are involved?

SB: For me, when that third main character gets added, it creates twice as much work than a classic two person relationship. Not only is there another personality to build, there is another relationship followed by the other relationships' reactions. It gets mighty busy. To keep things flowing but still keep them real presents a real challenge, but it's so much fun too. With another perspective you get another voice and it can lead to things that might get overlooked with just two views.

HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this particular story?

SB: I enjoyed writing Kit. She's such a mom with such mom feelings. Having her get all worked up after getting a washer and dryer made me laugh. I had my husband read it and he said, "Yep, that's pretty much how you acted when I brought home the front loaders. Girls are weird." Sometimes when fiction gets true to life it can be very fun.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

SB: I'm thrilled to have a new series out with Decadent Publishing. The Smut and Spurs series is made up of three short, sexy stories with cowboy themes. Smut Therapy, Smut Interrupted and Searching for Smut are perfect mini-summer vacations. There's also the third in the F*ck Like Bunnies series due out at the end of this summer. Bunnies on Ice takes the sexy werebunnis to Russia. The manuscripts in the works right now include a horror story and a super hero romance novella. I like to have fun and see where my curiosities take me.

HH: What's your writing schedule like?

SB: Eclectic would be a fair word. With three kids I write between visits to the parks, fruit snacks requests and wiping baby spit off my shoulder. I can get a lot of work done in a short amount of time and my family really respects when I need to write. They understand this is my passion, my job and my dream.

HH: Where can readers find all of your works?

SB: I have them listed on my website at and they can also find them at all major ebook retailers. Also, they can get Just One More in paper back at their favorite local bookstore and library--just ask for it!

HH: What would we find in your to-be-read pile?

SB: The list is long. Oh so long. I'm planning on re-reading the Harry Potter series this summer and also the Black Dagger Brotherhood series as well.

HH: When you're not reading or promoting you like to __________?

SB: Knit. I love to knit and crochet...and watch mind draining television late at night when the rest of the house is sleeping so they won't know about my addiction to reality television.

HH: Thank you!
