Reviews for Sinful
5 out of 5 from Miz Love & Crew…
Verdict: Beautiful love story involving two people who have inner demons and obstacles to overcome. As a reader, I knew damn well they could only overcome them properly together, and I rooted for them all the way. Great descriptions, great scenes playing out in my mind, and some kick-azz writing that made me so glad I’m an avid reader.
5 Hearts from TRS…
“Kacey Hammell has shown incredible charisma in her writing style. Rarely have I read, and enjoyed, a shorter novel this much. The chemistry between Sin and Mikayla is explosive…author explored the personalities of this couple, but did not ignore the sub characters. I loved this story and recommend it to everyone!”
RRTE's Sinclair Reid said...
"…a moving and erotic tale about two people who have suffered losses and recovered. Sin and Mikayla are perfect together, their attraction off the charts. And the sex...TNT!"

An Interview with Kacey Hammell
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Kacey, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Sinful. What can you tell us about this amazing, and sizzling, romance?
KM: Sinful is a contemporary romance that brings two single people together. Some might say they’re brought together too quickly but the characters make their own story. Mikayla & Sin have an undeniable connection from their first encounter and into their happily-ever-after. Their romance is unexpected for both of them but they can’t fight it. Sinful is a romance that simply breathes chemistry, connection, understanding, self-discovery and moving on.
HH: What do you like best about Mikayla and why will readers relate to her?
KH: Readers will like Mikayla for the sacrifices she’s made and her strength. After her parents’ died, she took in her younger brother, fought tirelessly to keep a roof over their heads and protected him. Now, Matthew is graduating from high school, he’s writing songs for her and the record company, he’s become her pride and joy. She’s a woman who doesn’t need anything material, is simply happy to live day-to-day and knows what she wants. When she meets Sin, her life starts to spin, but she’s a level-headed woman who knows when to grab hold of destiny.
HH: What do you like best about Sin and why will readers love him?
KH: Sin is a man’s-man who has loved and lost. When he loves, he loves wholeheartedly and unconditionally. I think readers will love him for the devotion to his deceased wife, his friendship with his partner and brother-in-law (ex) and his care and compassion for Mikayla and Matthew. Sin is a sinfully delicious man who gives me shivers, and comes to love Mikayla with all that he is. He puts others first and knows when fate comes knocking on his door. He knows how lucky he is to have found true love twice in his lifetime.
HH: How is this story different from the original version that your fans, like me, have read and loved?
KH: Thank you, glad you loved it.
The story hasn’t changed a lot. Just some tweaks here and there, timeframes worked out a bit more, set up for next book (Desmond’s) more defined.
HH: What sort of research did you do for this story?
KH: I researched as much as I could about record labels, slang/wordings used for contracts, etc. And how labels might react to a singer/songwriter losing his focus and needing him to make a huge comeback or lose everything.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
KH: Illusions releases Feb 28th with Decadent Publishing.
I have a Paranormal/Menage series that I’m plugging away at. A contemporary erotic romance – Dare – is complete and off to some publishers.
The sequel to Illusions – Awakenings – is submitted to Decadent Publishing.
Fingers crossed for me with the submissions!!
And of course, Sinful sequel – Desired – is ¾ finished and I’ll self-publish it at Amazon as I did Sinful.
And more voices nattering away at me. Lots of WIP ideas/on the go.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?
KH: At this point, while I do want fame and fortune LOL, right now my focus is to simply write. Get great stories completed and published and keep readers coming back for more. Having three kids, my weekends and evenings are filled w/ family time usually, so I can only get writing in while they’re at school. So while it is full time for me, I am unable to devote more hours to writing, which I do wish I could do.
HH: What sources of inspiration do you draw from for ideas?
KH: Music, movies, actors/actresses will sometimes inspires a thought or two. Music more so than the rest. I always have music playing and something will spark and I have to jot down ideas. Sometimes when researching another idea, something else will pop into my head and a whole other story evolves. It’s a vicious, but fun, circle *g*
HH: What's the best book you read in 2011?
KH: Oh, gosh, this is a hard question. There’s so many good ones.
New York to Dallas by JD Robb
Lost Wages of Sin by Rosalie Stanton
A Ragged Edge by Sara Brookes
Never Enough by Lauren Dane
Heart of a Killer by Jaci Burton
Impulse by Debra Webb
Sorry, couldn’t choose only one out of hundreds! I could have kept going *g* I read some great stories in the last year.
HH: What are you most looking forward to in 2012?
KH: More writing and releases.
Chatting with my characters and readers.
My daughter’s Sweet Sixteenth birthday, which part of her present is attending the RT Booklovers Convention with me in April.
A busy but will be an awesome year ahead!
Thanks for having me at TRS!
HH: Thank you!
