About Francesca Hawley
Hi. I’m Francesca Hawley and I’m a fat chick. A woman with dangerous curves just like my heroines.
I first began to read romance when I was in my teens. I loved the genre, but the heroines were all thin. Their thighs didn’t rub together... had never rubbed together... and frankly I had trouble relating to these ladies. The stories were great -- full of emotion and well told, but the heroines weren’t like me and that was a major disappointment. I kept wondering where were the fat heroines? I found some occasionally, but to have their Happily Ever After they usually had to lose weight and go from ugly duckling to swan.
Well, I wanted a fat heroine who loved herself -- or at least learned to love herself -- and a hot alpha hero who liked her jiggly bits just the way they were. Since I didn’t find many big girls to read about, I decided to write about them myself. After all, I loved to write anyway and had been writing almost as long as I’d been reading, so Francesca Hawley -- author of Romance with Dangerous Curves was born.
In a Francesca Hawley romance, my readers will find authentic, sensual, fat heroines who love and are loved by their intense, passionate, and seductive Alpha heroes. I hope you enjoy their dangerous curves just as much as their hunky heroes do.

An Interview with Francesca Hawley
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Francesca, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Leader of the Pack and features two very sensuous characters. Where did you get the idea for their sizzling tale?
FH: In other books set in my shapeshifter universe, I established that females could be pack leaders. I decided that I wanted to explore that so I created Yohana Whitewolf. She's a new packleader in a pack who is used to being led by an alpha male. There's some sexism at work, yet Yohana wants to serve her people. Yohana would be more interested in mating a Beta male who wouldn't fight her for her pack, but her pack wants her to mate an alpha male. She goes to her friend Serena, who runs a matchmaking service for shapeshifters to help her find an alpha male. Serena matches Dr. Per Goldwolf with Yohana. Per is a solidly alpha male, but he has no interest in running a pack because he's a surgeon. Even so, he has some challenges in acting as Yohana's subordinate.
HH: What do you like best about Yohana and why will readers empathize with her?
FH: Yohana yearns to serve. Being a packleader isn't just about being in charge. It's about being a guide and leader—serving the best interests of her pack. The problem is that there are some hidebound older pack members who aren't thrilled with the idea of being led by a female, so her position is in danger because her cousin, Dan is challenging her authority.
HH: What do you like best about Per and why will readers love him?
FH: Per is passionate and loving. He's an alpha male - absolutely - but he's gentle enough to help Yohana see herself the way he sees her. To Per, Yohana is a sexy and beautiful female with strength and a wonderful sense of humor. Yohana realizes that Per makes her feel safe. Protected. And ultimately...loved. He's also willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story and what do you think readers will take away from it?
FH: It was pretty cool coming up with Swedish phrases that Per mutters at different times. I connected with a fellow author who knew someone in Sweden willing to translate a few phrases for me - but any errors are strictly mine. I also loved the way Yohana and Per interacted. They intrigued me from the first.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
FH: I have more shapeshifter books in the works. Cupid Rocks, A Valentine's Day story will be released by EC in February and is about guitar god Joe Blackwolf and Mandy Goldwolf, the chick who digs him. Joe is the new lead guitarist in a band headed by Mandy's parents. When they meet they make perfect harmony - lust and love ensues! It's a fun story that involves family dynamics, sexy lovin' and rock music. I also am working on another story in the Predator-Match.com series called Freeze Frame. The heroine is clothing designer Cyn Redwolf. She's the owner of Lady Cyn designs who creates sexy clothes for plus-size females and she needs a photographer for her upcoming catalog. Cyn has a bit of a chip on her shoulder regarding her size so when Serena introduces her to photographer, Nico Blackwolf, sparks fly.
HH: How does 2013 promise to be different from 2012 for you?
FH: I lost my job in October of 2012, so I had a few months of writing time. It was nice, but I looked for work and in December I was hired as a programming librarian in another library. I'll be moving across the state of Iowa and trying to get a handle on my new position. I'm really looking forward to my new position, but I'll miss the friends I've made where I live now. I'm looking forward to making new friends though and I'm very hopeful for the upcoming year.
HH: Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
FH: Sometimes inspiration comes from a song. Or I see a photo of a really hot guy and think that he represents one of my heroes. I may get just a flash in my mind of a great scene and build the story around that. Inspiration comes from anything and everything.
HH: What's your writing schedule like?
FH: I try to write a bit each day, though that doesn't always work for me. I get blocked sometimes and then things come to a screeching halt until I manage to shake something loose.
HH: What's your favorite way to interact with readers?
FH: I write on my blog sometimes and I'm a regular presence on Facebook. I've just created an author group on GoodRead. I'm hoping to have my readers join the group so we can get to know each other better. http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/87996-francesca-hawley---romance-with-dangerous-curves
HH: What are you most looking forward to in 2013?
FH: Getting more writing done and I hope that I'll finish several WIPs that I can submit to my editor. I really want to have several new releases in 2013. Also, I'm super excited that I was nominated for an RT award. I want to attend RT in May and Romanticon in October. And of course, I'm really looking forward to getting myself moved and working in my new library job too. This will be a great year.
HH: Thank you!
