An Interview with Selena Illyria
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Selena, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Seven Sins Inn: Pietro and Callisto. Where did the idea for this sizzling tale?

SI: It was originially a story with Aspen Mountain Press before it went under, it was called Mudslide, but I revamped the storyline and added a new twist and a new setting.

HH: What do you like about Callisto and what's her greatest strength?

SI: Her ability to be vulnerable. To open herself up despite her past.

HH: What do you like best about Pietro and what makes him different than most heroes?

SI: His determination. He was stubborn at first but once he decided that Callisto was meant for him he went after her full throttle.

HH: How did you go about creating the world where their story takes place?

SI: The story was originally set in a bar but I tossed out that idea and turned it into an Inn where everything goes and fantasies can be fulfilled and people paired up with their destiny. It allows me to play more in that world.

HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story?

SI: The verbal banter and diving back into that world and re-creating new aspects to it.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

SI: I have Dragon Ugly the second book in my Dragon New Year series and Hidden Diversions the third book in the Draven's Crossing series. I'm also working on the first book in a fun new series set at a Bachelor Auction.

HH: What are you most excited about in your career right now?

SI: That I've mostly recovered from burn out and rediscovering my love of writing and exploring the new series that I'm developing.

HH: What are you looking forward to most in the rest of 2012?

SI: Getting more stories finished and turned into my editors and subbibg new stories.

HH: What are you reading at the moment?

SI: The Moving Finger by Agatha Christie and Holding All the Cards by Joey W. Hill and Primal Hunger by Dawn Montgomery.

HH: Do you have a writing hero and if so, who would it be?

SI: I have several and there would be too many to name. :-)

HH: Thank you!
