HH: Christina, thank you so much for talking with us. Your featured book is Operation: Spank Me. Where did the idea for this sizzling tale come from?CJ: I enjoy writing hot and steamy romance filled with sizzling sex scenes that involve more than traditional sex. I love writing characters who discover their inner naughty girl with the right man. So I began with the idea of the characters starting as pen pals and how the spark is there before they even meet. Then the character’s actions bring them together for the sizzling sex and they discover they’re meant to be together.
HH: What do you like best about Finn and why will readers love him? CJ: Oh, I love Finn! He’s sexy, funny, serious, dedicated... did I mention sexy? Readers will fall in love with his imagination and the ways he seduces Emma, always putting her pleasure first. His smile is as potent as his touch.
HH: What do you like best about Emma and why will readers relate to her? CJ: Emma is a perfect match for Finn with her slight innocence a challenge for his sexual appetite. I love how she can drive him as wild as he does her while her willingness to try new things makes their loving sizzle. I think the readers will relate to her as she discovers her true desires and follows her heart.
HH: While the topic of meeting online is one we see often, I liked the twist where Emma had described herself a little differently online. Where did you get the idea for that and why does Finn want her anyway? CJ: Emma using a different persona could be done under the anonymity that being online offers. I thought it would be interesting to see what happens when that little white lie unfolds. Despite being misled, Finn wants Emma anyway because of their conversations, the way she interests him, challenges his ideas and opinions, and arouses him. Her true self is even better than the fake persona since he sees the beauty that she doesn’t realize she has.
HH: What will readers love most about Finn and Emma's story? CJ: That two people who meet under unusual circumstances can fall in love and enjoy the journey’s ups and downs to get to forever after.
HH: What else do you have in the works for lucky readers? CJ: I have just submitted Book#2 for this erotic military series to my editor. Operation: Tempt Me brings together Cambrie and Miller for a wild ride of hot lovemaking and sizzling passion, neither expecting to fall for the other but, when circumstances beyond their control keep them apart, they struggle to find a way to make it all work.
HH: How do you balance a writer career with the rest of your life?
CJ: It’s a juggle but I use my time efficiently, writing mostly at night once the kids are settled. I write every minute I can, squeezing time in here and there. I make sure to carve out time to myself to have fun and relax so I can always remain energized.
HH: If you weren't a writer, you'd be a...?
CJ: This one is hard because I couldn’t imagine not being a writer. But I would be doing something that involves helping people like nursing or law enforcement. I love action and investigating problems.
HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure? CJ: Getting to daydream about sexy men for my work!
HH: What is your biggest hope for 2011? CJ: Continuing with this series until all of the hunky players in matchmaking Emma and Finn have a dose of matchmaking themselves and discover love….and of course great sex!
