An Interview with Casea Major
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Casea, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Youre featured book is One Knight in Brooklyn . Where did the idea for this emotionally-charged story originate?

CM: Thank you so much for having me today. It's a privilege to be here.

Last summer I had finished my second full-length manuscript and had my first short story published. I was looking to write another shorty story but wasn't sure which way to go. I saw a call for submissions on Facebook for Decadent's new 1 Night Stand Series. They were branching out into fantasy and paranormal. So the idea of Robin Hood came to me. But that seemed too serious. I wondered what would happen if the heroine expected Robin Hood but got Jersey Shore instead. How would she react? One Knight in Brooklyn was born.

What resulted was the funniest story I've ever written with two characters who have explosive chemistry. I am so proud of what they are able to accomplish in their short time and the genuine love and attraction they feel for each other.

HH: What can you tell us about Marianne and why will readers relate to her?

CM: Marianne is a part snark/part hopeless romantic. She's a capable, successful young woman in her career but when it comes to guys she still wears rose-colored glasses. She deeply desires the fairytale prince charming and the happily ever after even though she knows that's unlikely.

HH: What can you tell us about Robert and why will readers love him?

CM: Robert is such a great character. What's funny is how the reader perceives him because of how Marianne sees him at first, but hopefully they have a shift in their perception because if you take his actions from the beginning of the story you can see how truly caring and self-sacrificing he is. He is worthy of the Knight in Shining Armor title. And he is a hell of a kisser. LOL

HH: What makes this story stand out in a sea of romances?

CM: The fantasy elements are fun and magical but the chemistry between the characters and the real-life way they deal with their differences and find love and laughter together sets them apart. Plus their love-making is pretty damn hot!

HH: How did you go about creating the world where their story takes place?

CM: Sherwood Forest is an existing place that holds lots magic. It was easy to incorporate those elements and my husband and sister are in the hotel business so the Castillo Hotel in Vegas was a breeze to create. In fact, the lobby is modeled after the Omni Hotel in Irving Texas.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

CM: I am taking a walk on the wild side with three new stories that incorporate Dominate males and BDSM elements. Steamy, sexy uninhibited FUN! Can't wait to share a new short called The Driver's Seat from Ruby Lioness Press coming later this fall.

HH: Where can readers find all of your works?

CM: At all major retailers, including, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, All Romance e-books

HH: What would we find in your to-be-read pile?

CM: I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Debroah Harkness' follow up to A Discovery of Witches.

HH: What other in person or online appearances will you be making this year?

CM: You can check my website for details and my upcoming schedule.

HH: When you're not reading or promoting you like to __________?

CM: That question assumes I do something else. I really don’t (except feed and clothe my children on occasion) I read, write and talk online. Mostly write. It's what I do; it's who I am.

Thank you so much for having me. It's been a joy!

HH: Thank you!
