Diane Story

“Will you protect me and stand at my side when my husband discovers we’ve been having an affair?”

Dagger would never forget those words spoken to him two hundred years ago. It was the day Belinda died and he became a werewolf. Unable to accept her death, he seeks the help of a shaman. Soon, she is reborn as a ShapeShifter with the ability to shift into both a werewolf and a Dragon. Braccus is the pack's alpha male, and his time on earth is running out. He needs the magic of Belinda’s Dragon to continue his reign. Dead or alive, she would be his.

Dagger can’t forget the shaman’s warning. If Belinda doesn’t remember their past, they will die. Casual sex is not on his agenda as he realizes that only his love and their lovemaking can bring her back. Will their struggle for love eventually overcome the odds?

About Diane Story

I grew up in a small mountain community in the beautiful California Sierras. I have eight sisters and one brother. My love of romance novels started early on and I often times found myself lost in the authors version of life and love. It was then that I knew I would one day write romance. Thirty three years, one husband and four grand-babies later I finally sat down to my lap top and started writing.

My fist manuscript still sits in a drawer and one day I might submit it. My next three manuscripts were soon published. My current projects are well under way and I can hardly wait to share them with my readers.

After attending college in the 80's I began a long career working with medical insurance, and now after what seems like a lifetime, I am able to work on my goals as a romance and horror/fantasy novelist.

Feel free to runaround in my site for news and updates. Stay a while and visit. Take a look at my books, and feel free to e-mail me if you have a question.

An Interview with Diane Story
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Diane, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Dagger's Lust and it's an amazing tale of love lost and found again. Where did the idea for this story come from?

DS: I have always loved fantasy. But I wanted my characters to have a different challenge other than the normal Werewolf, Vampire theme. So I came up with the idea of Belinda's character being able to shift into a dragon. In all of my fantasy romance novels, I find it a challenge to create creatures that are on the unusual side.

HH: What do you like best about Belind and why will readers relate to her?

DS: I wanted her to show strength and determination. I think readers will like her stubborn side and her unwillingness to give up on her own wants and dreams. Belinda is very feminine, but she's also very capable of standing on her own.

HH: What do you like best about Dagger and why will readers love him?

DS: I love Dagger's strengths as a man, and his ability to control his werewolf when it comes to Belinda. His very existence is dependent upon Belinda, and he knows this. Yet, he is willing to die just to once again hear her tell him she loves him.

HH: What sort of research did you do for this tale?

DS: I researched the area of Houlton Main for my backdrop. I wanted an area of the US that would be beautiful and lush. A place the reader could picture in their minds. I also researched werewolves, and dragons.

HH: What challenge is there for you as the author in a tale of reincarnation?

DS: As a certified parapsychologist, I have taken classes on all things paranormal. I am a believer in reincarnation and as such, I wanted to bring in this element to "Dagger's Lust" The main challenge was deciding on names and appearances. How much would Belinda look like her reincarnated spirit. Ultimately, I decided to keep her looks the same for Dagger.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

DS: Coming In March 2012: "The Gargoyles Female" at Siren-BookStrand. This is full length romantic fantasy/urban fantasy. I loved writing and cant wait to share.

Coming in April 2012: "Pop Baby Krissy Doucet (Pop Babies 1)" at Siren-BookStrand. This is a erotic novella about the life of a pop star. My nephew 'Kevin Federline' inspired me to write this story and the series. If you love reading the tabloids, you wont want to miss this one. :x lovestruck

HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?

DS: I have just finished book 2 of the Pop Babies series. It is called "Pop Baby Maddy Fortin" and I have started book 3 "Pop Baby Jeannie Baker".

I plan on completing several erotic novella's this year.

HH: What sources of inspiration do you draw from for ideas?

DS: My family and friends inspire me. I also belong to a wonderful writing group "Yosemite Romance Writers" The members are all wonderful people who love to write.

HH: What's the best book you read in 2011?

DS: "The Gargoyle" By Andrew Davidson. What a ride. If you love writing in its deepest form. I suggest this one.

HH: What are you most looking forward to in 2012?

DS: The 2012 prophecies. I cant wait to see how many people follow them and what they do out of fear.

I'm also looking forward to getting several books completed and reading about the success of my fellow authors.

HH: Thank you!
