Both the CIA Revenant Division and their enemies want her on their side and will stop at nothing to have her. John Weston cannot believe he has to fetch the Agency's newest recruit. He's spent the last few hundred years as a revenant paying for a life of rakish depravity. Working for the CIA might just be his last chance at redemption.
When they're assigned as partners, they must work together to discover who's out to get Rue. Neither expects to fall for the other…a human and a revenant? Each knows that's a recipe for heartbreak.

An Interview with Crystal Jordan
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance Studio
HH: Crystal, welcome to TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured work, Revenant.CJ: Thanks so much for having me. It's great to be here to chat with you. Revenant is a sexy, suspenseful ghost story where my heroine, Rue, is recruited from a mental hospital to serve in a secret division of the CIA that regulates the activity of revenant, or ghosts--she's not as crazy as she always believed, she can see and speak to ghosts.
HH: Your hero and heroine are an unlikely pair thrown together to protect one. But can they protect their hearts? Where did you get the idea for this fascinating story? CJ Ha! I never know where my ideas come from. Too many of them are usually just THERE--I'm such an idea machine. The opening scene of this book was what came to me first. A heroine strapped to a bed in a mental ward being saved by a ghost secret agent...I had to write it!
HH: What sort of research did you do for this project? CJ: My brother is a police officer and former Marine--he's my go-to guy for anything law enforcement related. He also writes science fiction and fantasy, so when I call him and say "My heroine is a CIA agent and she's in this situation...what kind of gun would she be carrying..." he's always willing to help. And he understands that I'm not crazy, just a writer. Or maybe both.
HH: This is part of Cobblestone Press' In The Runes series. What is your rune and how did you come to be part of this series? CJ: My Rune is Mannaz, which means The Self. My heroine and hero both have a lot to learn about themselves and have to come to grips with their pasts before they can move forward together, so it's all about knowing yourself.
When Cobblestone put out the call for In The Rune submissions, I just knew this idea that had been hanging around on the back burner would fit. Luckily, Deanna Lee and Sable Greay agreed.
HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story? CJ: I loved that the hero and heroine live in the dark, gritty world where death isn't the end, and sanity is relative. Putting together that world was my favorite part.
HH: How did you get your start as a writer? CJ: Frankly? I'd just finished graduate school and had no more homework to take up my evenings, so my grandmother suggested I try my hand at writing the books I'd been reading for years. Like me, she's a big fan of romance.
HH: What do you enjoy about being a writer now that you're multi-published? CJ: Deadlines! Call me crazy, but they keep me motivated. And it means publishers want to buy my work. Hooray! I also just sold to Kensington Aphrodisia's Sexy Beast anthology. It should be out in fall of 2008, so yay! More deadlines.
HH: How do create new and unique stories in a highly competitive market? CJ: Oh, wow. I just have so many ideas all the time, if I read something that's a little to close to one of my ideas, I either tweak it or discard it in favor of the next idea. I really think it's important not to get too married to one idea and to be willing to try new things--like having a mental patient for a heroine.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career? CJ: Sell more books. I think that's always the goal. Hopefully, people will buy my books and like them. That's all I can ever really ask for.
HH: What can readers look forward to in the near future from you? CJ: Well, there's my Kensington Aphrodisia story called In Ice. And I have a pirate time travel--Treasured--releasing in April 2008 from Samhain Publishing. But next story I have coming out is from Cobblestone Press in October 2007. It's a naughty wereleopard shape-shifter romantic suspense called Open Season. Check it out, I had a great time writing it!
HH: Thank you!
