About Tigra-Luna LeMar

Konichiwa! I was born on the island of Jamaica then moved to Canada. I am a culturally obsessed Jamaican, baseball/hockey chick who loves CFL football (go Argos!). I started reading romance novels to keep myself out of trouble and out of the way in high school. I began writing poems, songs (lyrics) and short stories then escalated into writing romance (NaNoWriMo) when I was about seventeen. In my spare time (though sometimes it seems I have none) I love singing, watching Asian Dramas (my favorite being Liar Game and Death Note), listening to music, watching movies and the History Channel/Comedy network, trying to cook like an Iron Chef, and spending time with friends and family. I speak English, Patois, a survival amount of Spanish and a smattering of Japanese. I am currently a university student.

An Interview with Tigra-Luna LeMar
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Tigra-Luna, thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured book, Jennifer's Wager?

TL: Thank you. Well, Jennifer's Wager is a joint venture between myself and a friend D.M Dulton. It's about Sydney who was boxed around in the foster care system until she was adopted into a caucasian family. She became close to her little adopted sister and soon the two has to live through hell.

Ever since she was a little girl, Sydney knew life was going to be hell. After getting adopted and having a little sister she figured nothing else could go wrong. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Now a grown woman, Sydney is a photographer to the stars and estranged from the only person she considers family, her sister Jennifer. But a letter from Jennifer forces Sydney to do one last favor for her dying sister; take care of Jennifer's husband and new born son.

Maximillain Durant, after losing his wife, finds himself in the painful position of being a single father. After discovering Jennifer made preparations for their family without his knowing, he wonders if he ever knew who his wife truly was.

When the new nanny shows up, she's nothing like he imagined. Torn between the loyal to his wife and falling in love again, Maximillian and Sydney are forced to confront the secret that could destroy it all before it even begins.

HH: Two characters dealing with sensitive pasts. Where did the idea for this emotionally-charged story come from?

TLL: The truth was, we never set out to write a story with such a sensitive blow to it. We wanted to write an erotic story that was fun and filled with love but eventually over the days of us writing together, it just came. We're happy with it thought and now we're hoping that someone will learn something from it.

HH: You wrote this with author D.M. Dulton. What was the writing experience like for you?

TLL: Sometimes it was maddening lol. Because when I write on my own, I can put a story off for a while and get back to it, or I can just keep going and going but writing with someone you have to follow a partern, and make sure each person was happy with what was written. Mountains of re-writes - but sometimes it was filled with jokes and all around fun times. I would recommend it to anyone because the pros beat the cons any day. But you have to have some patience when co-authoring with someone, especially when your lives are as different as mine and D.M's are.

HH: What do you like best about Sydney and why is she perfect for Maximillian?

TLL: I think Sydney is perfect for Max because she's real. She has a temper, she isn't a stick, she speaks her mind and she has a certain strength about her that Max is lacking. Not that Max is weak, but in a relationship one partner has a strength that the other lacks and vice versa so they fit together well. That's why Sydney is perfect for Max.

HH: How did you get your start as a writer?

TLL: Actually, my first story ever published was with D.M Dulton as well. We started writing together through Play By Email Role Playing games. That's where it first began - well aside from when I was younger and tried writing my bio about when I became famous lol.

HH: How did you learn your made the first sale?

TLL: I was in college at the time, being angry because there was a professor strike and it was my final year. I checked my email to see if there was any upates about the strike and there it was! I was first published with Eros' Lessons that was written by myself and D.M.

HH: How have things changed for you since then?

TLL: I am hoping, that I've grown as an author - I am taking more risks. Well the first story had slight BDSM, in a dark club, it was risque but I am hoping I've learnt what is great erotica and what is the other thing.

HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?

TLL: Oh my! I have a LONG way to go. I am hoping at this point I am ready to write for a bigger house.

HH: Are you attending any conferences or other events this year?

TLL: Well, I am hoping to attend the Fetish Conference this year in Ottowa, Canada. It would be my first ever conference for anything, really. I was invited for a friend who told me that I was going lol. So I'm going to try my hardest to make that.

HH: What do you have coming up for lucky readers?

TLL: I was invited to write in an anthology so I am working on a paranormal story for that. Not sure how much more I can say about that at the moment. And I have a rather steamie paranormal-ie/fanasy story titled My Fair Genie coming soon. It has been contracted now with Phaze Books. I am also working on a story titled Shinigami's Revenge - That one is paranormal, erotic about a Japanese mythological creature. So far its going along really well!

HH: Thank you!
