Completely healed and her life on a new track, Nikki is determined to live life to the extreme, not wasting a single minute. But there is one thing she approaches with caution...Taylor Crase. Her caution is a good thing. She doesn't have any idea who she's dealing with. One night of passion lets her touch what life is really about. Too bad Taylor disappeared without a trace. When she finds him again and sees who he really is...Nikki is Derailed.
Taylor Crase has been watching Nikki from his place behind the bar. Working undercover, he can't act on his attraction to her. Not just because she's a sexy little number, either. He honestly likes her. When the drug bust goes down in this little bar, Taylor has no choice but to drag her out of the melee. He has no idea how that one night would change his life, make him disregard all the rules, and knock him completely off track.

“…Sizzling sexual encounters with amazingly romantic undertones set the pace for DERAILED... Once I started DERAILED, it was difficult to put down, holding me captive with its ability to draw me right into the fray...Author, Rhiannon Neeley certainly tells a great story...” - Reviewed by Scarlet

An Interview with Rhiannon Neeley
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Rhiannon, thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. What can you tell us about your featured story, Derailed.RN: Derailed is about what happens when Nikki Steele, a cautious young woman, ends up getting her car hit by a train with her in it and from that moment on, she realizes life is too short...you have to enjoy it. Derailed was also an EPPIE Finalist this year.
HH: Your heroine survived an incredible accident and it's given her a new and positive view of life. Only one thing, or shall we say hero, sends up a red flag for her. Where did you get the idea for this amazing story?
RN: I like writing stories about strong women and Nikki is one of the strongest I've "met". A lot of people would have given up after surviving such an accident, would have become even more cautious, but not Nikki. She truly sees that live is to be lived.
HH: What do you like best about Nikki? RN: Her inner strength. Very few people have that--a true inner strength. She won't let life push her down and she makes the most of what she has.
HH: Was this story in any way inspired by a life changing event in your own life? RN: Actually no. The character of Nikki was inspired by a friend of mine who, though she didn't have an accident, had a life changing event happen in her own life. She made a drastic career change and it brought out just how strong she is...as a woman and a person. She's now a Deputy Sheriff and she's my best friend.
HH: Your characters see how one night with a special person can be life-changing. What messages do you hope to send to readers in your romantic stories? RN: I hope my readers see that it's never too late and you should never give up on romance. Mr. Right could be the friend you've had for years or...he could very well be the one night stand you've been dreaming of. Life is stranger than fiction, as the saying goes.
HH: What do you enjoy about being a writer in the romance genre?
RN: Everything. LOL I normally write for plot and the romance comes from that. I find the romance is best when it derives directly from plot and I love plotting. LOL. Does that sound strange? Do I sound like Lucy Ricardo?
HH: How, as an author, do you keep up with a fast-moving, ever changing market?
RN: I really don't try to keep up with the market, I write the stories I feel in my heart. If it doesn't come from inside, I find it isn't meant to be written. At least not for me, anyway.
HH: How do you see the future of erotica/erotic romance in the market? RN: It's growing. We're seeing it more and more. Even what is considered tame romance has that element of the erotic these days. At least, that's the way I see it. Women are becoming more attuned to what they secretly want to read and there is a lot out there in store for them to sample.
HH: What do you enjoy reading? RN: I like romance, of course. And I read in a lot of genres: horror, suspense, comedy, and non-fiction. I read whatever strikes me as interesting, which could be almost anything.
HH: What's your idea of the perfect day? RN: Ah, let me see. 75 degrees and sunny with a light breeze. Good book in hand. Nice strong cup of coffee made in my Senseo. The kids home and enjoying the sunshine with me and my husband. A cookout. A fire in the fire pit after dark. A long soak in the tub. And then...well...I'm not gonna tell you...LOL
HH: Thank you!
