HH: Tory, thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured book, The Cowboy Way. TR: It's great being here! This hot cowboy romance is my third torrid romance with Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. Blurb below.
Artist Lacey Owens comes home to her father's ranch for a long over due visit, and a little R and R. She's not prepared for becoming the means for revenge against him by an old enemy he helped send to prison. Getting involved with her father's ranch foreman and partner Chase Saunders isn't in her plans either. But as unexplained incidences occur and Lacey's life becomes threatened, fate throws her and Chase together when he makes it his mission to protect her. Her independent nature rebels against his arrogant high handed methods and tempers ignite, but it soon becomes apparent that their animosity is only a ruse for the intense sexual longing stirring in their blood.
HH: She's an artist who's about to become a pawn in a game of revenge. Or is she? Where did you get the idea for this sizzling tale? TR: LOL...straight from my imagination! It's actually an old story that I wrote a long time ago. Needed some major revision and modernizing before I submitted it.
HH: What do you like best about Lacey and how do you relate to her? TR: She's independent, says what's on her mind, and doesn't let anyone push her around. I like her spirit. I like to think I have some of those qualities.
HH: What do you like best about Chase and why is he perfect for Lacey? TR: He's the typical alpha male. Big, bossy, and sexy as hell. He's perfect for Lacey because he can handle her without breaking her spirit.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers? TR: Well...I am finishing up a holiday romance between a marine and his dead brother's wife. I hope to submit it to a publisher soon.
HH: What's your idea of a good writing day? TR: Writing a page a day. Lately though, that hasn't been happening. Too much going on.
HH: What do you do when you get stuck in a story?
TR: I usually have a couple different projects that I can move on to. I've learned that I can't force writing, though. Sometimes you just have to take a break. Writing is a hobby for me. It's always been my passion but my family will always come fist.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?
TR: I just attended the RT Convention in Orlando last month. That was something I'd been wanting to do. I soaked up a lot of information that week and learned a lot. The book signings were a great experience!
HH: What at this point in your career are you most proud of? TR: I guess I'm proud of myself for not giving up, when it would have been so easy to.
HH: What are you reading now? TR: Nothing, unless you count the RT Magazine:) Who has time for reading? I work full time days. The rest of my time is divided up with family life, demanding cats and writing.
