About Shelli Stevens Shelli read her first romance at the age of eleven. It wasn't until many years later that she decided to pursue writing stories of her own. By then she acknowledged the voices in her head didn't make her crazy, they made her a writer. She currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her young daughter and is actively involved in her local RWA chapter. When not writing you may find her enjoying the outdoors, spending time with friends, or wasting time surfing celebrity gossip sites.

An Interview with Shelli Stevens
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured book, Theirs to Capture. SS: All three are shifter species and royalty. She's against it the union, and flees to try and escape it. The two men seek out to retrieve her and convince her how much pleasure and love can be found in the union.
HH: A woman on the run and two men determined to claim her. Where did you get the idea for t his sizzling story? SS: I decided to challenge myself. I'd never written a triad story. A threesome where all three are destined to be together. I also thought it would be fun to set it in a paranormal setting, having my characters be shifters.
HH: What do you like about each prince and why are they perfect for Delilah? SS: Pierce is more alpha. Takes what he wants and to hell with the consequences. He's great to put Delilah in her place when she's out of line. Jason is more subtle in is sex appeal. He's her friend, can comfort her and help reason with her. But both men, who already love each other, would go through fire to claim her as the third in their triad.
HH: How did you approach building the world for this story? SS: Well, it's a short novella so the world building wasn't too extreme. I just knew the backgrounds I wanted each character to have and went from there. And I wanted to give it a bit of a historical other world feel.
HH: Sensual scenes with multiple partners are very popular today in the roman ce genre. In your opinion, why is that so? SS: I think it all boils down to the fantasy. I think many women fantasize about having two men who would move heaven and earth to have her, love and then luuurve her and pamper her, etc. But I'm sure most of us don't ever experience that or seek it out. So, reading about it is safe and fun ;)
HH: What challenge is there for you as the author in writing such scenes with the eroticism readers desire and while making it relevant to the
story? SS: Well, I think any erotic scene in an erotic book can probably work. Unless I were to bring in a goat and just make the scene completely disgusting and out there for no reason. *Grin* But the great things about erotica or erotic romance is there don't tend to be many rules (besides the usual icky ones!) I think in any love scene the characters are giving a little more of themselves, showing the reader more about them, and ultimately surrendering to their future destiny.
HH: What are you working on now?
SS: I'm working on a proposal for my option book with the Kensington Aphrodisia line. It 's a hot shifter story that shows what happens with two side characters I introduce in my novella in the Sexy Beast VII anthology.
HH: Are you attending any conferences or other events this year?
SS: I'm attending the RWA National conference in July in Washington D.C., and the Emerald City Writers' Conference in Seattle in October.
HH: What do you enjoy reading? SS: I love to read all genres. My favorites have got to be historical -- especially medieval, and romantic suspense. Of course, I love them hot. I love a thick meaty plot with hot lovin'.
HH: What do you consider a good writing day? SS: Oh, maybe when I get several hours of writing in. Between 15-20 pages. I have a minimum goal to meet, 5-10 a day, but often go past it when I'm in my groove and have some kid free time :)
HH: Thank you!
