Reviews for Planet of Veils
Novelspot 12/7
"...from page one this story was a pleasure to dive into, and it never let me down. The characters are interesting and easily likable or easy to hate depending on who you are looking at. I was intrigued with the idea of the Planet of Veils, a sort of sexual training camp, and fascinated with the corruption that can occur when one is given so much power over another. So in all honesty, if I had never touched a Sultry Summers book before, without a doubt this one would have led me to membership in her fan club." - Reviewed By Johnna
FAR - 5 Angles
"Planet of Veils instantly grabs the reader's attention with an overwhelming love shared between the King and his future Queen and the horrible lengths to which a jealous man will go to have what isn't rightfully his. Sultry Summers has done a wonderful job at building an enormous amount of history in a few pages, leaving readers drawn to certain characters and wishing for a slow agonizing end for another. Upon Norquar and Belayla's entrance into this story, readers will be cheering for them to right all the wrongs done in the past and have a future that Norquar's parents would be proud of. Once again, secondary characters will have readers gripping the pages in emotional heartache and unable to put the story down until they have been dealt with. The chemistry between Norquar and Belayla is a physical explosion and a tender heartfelt moment that will leave readers overjoyed. As the last page was turned, this reader was amazed at the journey I experienced and has me hoping there is a follow-up sequel to settle some additional scores. There is definitely a character out there that needs to be punished, one that needs to find love and her way home, and two characters readers will love to revisit. Planet of Veils offers an emotional, erotic, and action-packed plot that this reader had to read in one setting for fear of missing something. 5 Angels!" - Reviewed by: Jessica

About Sultry Summers
Escapism is the first stage of Imagination. My favorite axiom, why? It's simple, writing and reading fiction is how we escape from out daily routines and stresses. That's why I write, to escape, to lose myself in a story of my own creation, my own imagination.
I've written since I was in Junior High or as it's called, middle school, now. Still, I kept it all to myself and didn't attempt to publish until five years ago. Publishing has been a rocky road but then it is for many authors. I've had two publishers crash just as my books were beginning to get out and get established but I hope that's behind me now. Whiskey Creek Press is a wonderful press with really great people. Yet, at one point I could boast of six books out and hope to again, soon. I have many great stories to tell both as Sultry and as Sheila.
I find it satisfying to write under two different names since I'm a Gemini. I really have two different author's personalities. Sultry writes hotter and more erotic. Sheila writes more science fiction, fantasy, and romance that makes for a longer read.
With the release of Planet of the Veils and Christmas Rescue in November two of my previous reads will be back out but in February, Casino - Star Shine will be released and its new! In the coming months I hope to find homes for several of the others previously out for such a short but well review time and two new stories are in submissions now.
Writing has become a passion for me and despite the love of several hobbies, ones I do well; I just can't seem to stop writing long enough to work on anything else. However with family and all the normal things we all do - time to Escape, unfortunately, is rare.

PLANET OF THE VEILS
To celebrate the release of Planet of the Veils by Whiskey Creek Press I am sponsoring a contest. I will post three questions on my yahoo group, those interested in playing need not buy anything but must join my group (Paranormal_Escapismwriter@yahoogroups.com ) to learn the questions, for information on future books and contests. Each contestant will need to correctly answer the three questions posted on the homepage of the group:
Paranormal_Escapismwriter@yahoogroups.com
The answers to the questions can be found by reading the excerpts for Planet of the Veils and in the Blurb on my web site at www.sqpens.com . All answers should be sent to waterwit44@gmail.com. The contest will remain open for a period of two weeks after the book's release. After this period of time, two winners will be chosen from the group of CORRECT answer contestants - a first place and second place winner will be chosen.
First place prize
Umma's special bag!
Though Umma's little bag was simple, the contest bag will not be and will consist of a gift certificate from Thyme's Bath Aroma Therapy Collection and a couple of other items of special interest, similar to, but not the same as the contents of the bag she took with her from Planet of the Veils.
Second Place
Three items the 'girls' chose on their shopping trip the day Belayla arrived on Planet of the Veils.
Both winners will be selected at random from the group of contestants who have correctly answered the questions and both winners will have an option for a free e-book copy of Planet of the Veils if you have not already read it.
Good luck to all
An Interview with Sultry Summers
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Sultry, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured work, the fabulous Planet of Veils.SS: It is always a pleasure to be at The Romance Studio and with you, Holly. Planet of the Veils actually comprises several romances around one main story. Mysterious forces and circumstances including a prophecy that must be fulfilled center around the main characters and focus on Planet of the Veil where sex slaves are trained. Here, one very sadistic Mistress meets her match when my main female character will not give in to her 'methods' of training and escapes, but she can't escape her prince or her destiny.
HH: Your characters are both very strong-willed. Your heroine refuses to accept what would be forced upon her and your hero wants what's been promised to him. Where did you get the idea for this amazing romance? SS: When I began Planet of the Veils I wanted a much more straight forward plot, with two basic characters, but I soon realized it wasn't going to go that way. Norquar, the main male character, had to have his lineage explained and he had to be strong, his father and mother demanded it. Really!
When Belayla, the main female character came to me, I knew a warrior with her intelligence wouldn't just buckle under. She too had to be strong, besides I don't like wimpy females.
Conflict between Belayla and Norquar was a given but I knew I had to divert some of it to a third party or I could never resolve them. As for the entire idea - I can't explain half of my ideas, they come to me. The characters demand paper space, I give it to them.
HH: How did you go about creating the world this story takes place in? SS: If my imagination isn't in outer space and on another planet, it's back in time like in Trojan Gold. Sometime the old myths get sent into space, combining the two. I've always been this way. In school my teachers wouldn't allow me to sit near a window, I would never pay attention if they did. LOL. There is more coming from outer space but I have just contracted my first contemporary. For me that's a first.
HH: What do you like best about Norquar and Belayla? SS: Their strengths in their attention to duty and honor. When I write a character, unless that character is the bad guy, their 'integrity' will always be present and usually gets in the way as an obstacle in some manner and must be resolved. Norquar appears to be big, strong and 'heartless' but he proves to be honorable. Belayla proves she is true to her own honor, even to the pain of foreswearing an ill made oath.
HH: This is released by Whiskey Creek Press. What can you tell us about your experience with this well known publisher? SS: Fabulous! Professional! I have five at this point coming from Whiskey Creek Press. I just signed two more. Right now I'm very happy with them and they're stable. After the problems with previous publishers crashing, feeling solid is nice. Planet of the Veils will available in paperback, I'm very happy about that.
HH: What else can readers look forward to from you? It seems I heard you have another release in November? SS: Yes! In November Christmas Rescue will be released. It is another outer space - sort of, the alien crashes in the back pasture of a Wyoming Rancher on Christmas Eve. He is a golden hunk from a world that has recently freed themselves and the Rancher - SHE is about to lose her family's 100 year old ranch. Just who rescues whom the readers will have to find out for themselves but I don't think they'll be disappointed with the tweaked ending or the love scenes.
HH: What, in your opinion, makes a good romantic story? How do you feel you give that to readers? SS: I am a sucker for HEA - and good erotic romance, not just sex. The characters need to love, even love at first sight - not just jump into bed and have sex, though that has its place. I hope my readers can feel the love between the man and woman or even in a ménage. I haven't ventured in M/M - yet, I haven't had that inspiration and really think that it takes inspiration to write a piece no matter what it is. I HAVE read some good pieces so possibly that might happen, but I don't see it soon.
HH: What do you enjoy most about being a writer? SS: Oh ask me my favorite question, or one of them - Easy ESCAPE! I love to escape whether I'm writing or reading.
HH: What do you enjoy reading? SS: Pretty much what I write, I love a good love story especially paranormal, fantasy or sci/fi. I like a well done historical - I haven't written one yet. It takes a lot of research. I do like history a great deal and enjoy reading it. So when I do read a historical if it isn't on target I'll drop it. I think that's why I haven't written one, I don't like being wrong. I have one piece, that was at one point published, and wasn't meant to be in anyway historically accurate and wasn't. One reason it isn't out, but that one will reappear and when it does - it will be accurate.
HH: If you could have any of your characters as neighbors, who would it be and why? SS: Without a doubt, the one Character I would have as my neighbor would be Xerxes from Atlantis Vortex, which isn't out right now. It was published when Venus Press was running, but Atlantis Vortex is a full length work and long. It is however one of the best pieces I think I've done. I haven't resubmitted it to an e-publisher yet. Actually I'm considering splitting it into two works with a third that is already written. But who wouldn't want the High Lord of Atlantis for a next door neighbor? That would mean, I'd be living in Atlantis! Talk about an escape!
HH: Thank you!
