Like everyone else in LA, actress Gabby Brown is waiting for The Big One. The big break that will make her a star. The big quake that will rock the city to its knees. Or, in her case, the Big O—the elusive, G-spot, ultra orgasm. She thinks she's found the guy who’ll give it to her when she meets Zach, the super hot musician who's just moved into her building. But Gabby's quest to find true love and ultimate pleasure with the rock guitarist of her dreams is complicated by her friendship with Derek, the martial arts instructor with whom she's co-writing a screenplay.
Gabby has refused to even consider Derek for the role of soul mate because she fears sex will ruin their friendship. But, Derek has ideas of his own, and they don’t include sharing Gabby with anybody.
When an early morning earthquake precipitates a crisis at her day job—dog-walking the pampered pets of Hollywood's elite, off leash in Runyon Canyon Park—Gabby turns to Derek for help. His actions force her to re-evaluate her feelings about mixing sex and friendship.
Reviews for Waiting For The Big One
"P.G. Forte has written a contemporary gem. Waiting For the Big One is clever, well-written and sensual. The yoga sex scenes are so intense they make me want to go out and get a yoga teacher of my own! I especially enjoyed the dialogue between Gabby and Derek. Their friendship and mutual respect came through loud and clear and it was obvious that neither of them wanted to risk the great relationship they had for something elusive and untried. I liked that their interlude was built on trust, and the author brought that out fully." - 5 Angels and a Recommended Read, Marlene, Fallen Angel Reviews
"WAITING FOR THE BIG ONE is the perfect erotic short story. It has everything from a friendship transformed into true love, comedy and incredibly written sex scenes, including one with a chocolate fondue that will make you lick your lips for more. This story is the ultimate "O" and deserves the La Petite Mort award!" - La Petite Mort, Kate Garrabrant, RRT Erotic
"I won't give away the ending but it's a fantastic summer read. Chick lit meets erotica at it's finest. P.G. Forte has the ability to write exquisite, love scenes. If you want a little sizzle in your summer I would highly recommend this short story." - Jai, The Romance Zone
"Waiting For The Big One is a fun, short story with great characters. Gabby is a New Ager who wants to be a movie star, but first would be satisfied with a G-spot, ultra orgasm. I found her antics to be hugely amusing. Ms. Forte has a wonderful ability to develop her characters so that they are very true to life. Her descriptions of Derek gave me chills-what a hunk! It was clear from the beginning that Derek is crazy about Gabby, but is giving her time to figure out for herself that she is crazy about him. The plot was filled with erotic and graphic language; and when Gabby and Derek finally get together sexually, the explosion that has been building was awesome! I did not want them to stop making love. Gabby certainly got her Big One! There was nothing wrong anywhere in this tale and I just loved it!" - 4/5 Stars, Marcy Arbitman, Just Erotic Romance Reviews

About P.G. Forte
PG Forte inhabits a world only slightly less strange than the ones she creates. Filled with serendipity, coincidence, love at first sight and dreams come true...it also bears an uncanny resemblance to Berkeley, California.
She wrote her first serialized story when she was still in her teens. The sexy, ongoing adventure tales were very popular at her oh-so-proper, all girls, Catholic High School, where they helped to liven up otherwise dull classes.
Even if her teachers didn’t always think so.

An Interview with P.G. Forte
By Katie Raines for The Romance Studio
KR: P.G., thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us
about your featured book, Waiting For the Big One.
PG: Hi, Katie, and thank you! It’s always a pleasure to be here. Waiting
for the Big One tells the story of Gabby Browne—aspiring actress and
dog-walker to the stars—and her quest for true love, ultimate
satisfaction, and the soul-mate of her dreams.
The book opens with Gabby harboring a not-so-secret crush on her
best friend, Derek. Though they were both involved with other people
when they met, now they’re single again—and undeniably attracted to
each other—but Gabby’s reluctance to risk their friendship for the
sake of sex is beginning to put a strain on their relationship.
Derek claims to see no problem with their mixing sex and friendship,
but he’s not exactly been pushing her either. In part, this is
because he’s hoping she’ll realize on her own that they belong
together, but I suspect he’s also enjoying the anticipation a little
too much! To put it in Gabby’s own words: "Obviously, one of us had
a rather large, unexpected, masochistic streak. And it wasn’t me. I
blame it on Pluto. There’s something dark and twisted about
Scorpio’s ruling planet."
Then Gabby meets Zach and becomes convinced (on very little
evidence) that he’s her soul-mate. This spurs Derek into
action...which may or may not have been her plan all along. ;)
KR: This is the first story in your LA Love Lessons series. How did
the series come about? PG: My critique partners pushed me into it. Jodi Lynn Copeland, Shawna
Moore and Keira Ramsay (aka TL Schaefer) were all writing erotic
romance and thought I should be doing it, too. And , let me tell
you, those fire signs do not like taking ‘no’ for an answer. They
finally challenged me to write a short erotic romance (short being
the bigger challenge for me, to be honest) for an astrology-themed
contest. Given my fondness for Astrology, it was impossible to resist.
The rest of the series came about simply because I love series and
am generally incapable of writing books that aren’t part of a series
(although I have done one now). Also, having somehow managed to cram
five characters (not counting all the dogs) into Waiting for the
Big One’s 18,000 words, I found myself faced with three characters
still in need of HEAs.
KR: Your story has a heroine looking for love and two awesome men. =)
Where did you get the idea for this sizzling story? PG: The initial idea came from a poem I wrote years earlier while I was
living in Los Angeles. I was sitting in traffic one Sunday
morning—on my way to a video shoot and running late—when someone on
the radio referenced ‘the big one’ that we were all waiting for and
it occurred to me that, yes, we were! The rest, as they say, is
history...
KR: What do you like best about Gabby? How do you relate to her? PG: Well, we’re both Pisces...have I mentioned that yet? *grin* So we
have that in common, although Gabby is a dead ringer for Carrie
Underwood (also a Pisces, btw) and I’m really not. Gabby also shares
my enthusiasm for working Astrology into just about every
conversation—a very annoying habit, according to at least one
reviewer. LOL!
To quote Gabby again: "Nine out of ten times Pisces will do
everything we can to avoid confrontation. We’re peaceful.
Compassionate. Willing to see everyone’s point of view, to take
everyone’s side, to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. We’re
nice people. Really. But if you happen to catch us on that tenth
time--watch out." And then, of course, there’s the whole foot fetish
thing...
I actually modeled Gabby after an actress who lived in the apartment
below us in Los Angeles (and who had a small part on the TV show
Dynasty) as well as on a couple of models I knew from New York where
my husband (who, by a complete coincidence, happens to be a Scorpio,
just like Derek) was a fashion photographer.
I think what I like best about Gabby is that she knows what’s
important to her and what’s not. She’s strong enough to take a stand
and stick to it—even when she’s being pressured to give in. Sure,
she makes some goofy mistakes, from time to time, but when she
finally figures things out, she’s not ashamed to admit she was wrong
and she’s not too stubborn to change.
KR: What can you tell us about the next book in the series, Love,
From A to Z? PG: Love, From A to Z is one of those stories I always said I’d never
write—because of the amnesia sub-plot. Oddly enough, however, it
ended up being one of my favorites. This is Zach’s story (that’s
where the Z comes in) although it’s mostly told in first person
from April’s perspective. I fell in love with Zach when I was
writing Waiting for the Big One and just wanted him to be happy. *grin*
KR: What can you tell us about the third book, Let Me Count the Ways?
And will there be more? PG: Chronologically speaking, I suppose Let Me Count the Ways should
probably have been the first book in the series. But, that’s
something I didn’t realize until I was in the middle of writing it.
The story opens with the heroine, Claire, still mourning the demise
of her relationship with Derek, who’s recently broken up with her in
order to pursue his ‘friendship’ with Gabby.
In an attempt to distract herself, Claire (a slightly-tarnished
movie star) initiates an affair with her seemingly mild-mannered
accountant, Mike, who also happens to be her biggest fan. As the tag
line for the book says: She’s thinking fling. He’s thinking forever.
Mike is full of surprises. So, even though Claire is, apparently,
the more experienced and out-going of the two, he’s still able to
teach her some things, particularly about love.
And that’s really the point of the whole series. These are all
stories in which either the hero or the heroine (sometimes both)
learns an important lesson about love. As for whether there will be
more: I hope so. I have two more stories planned for this series,
but I haven’t gotten around to writing them yet.
KR: I have to ask about your Oberon series because it's a favorite of
mine. What can you tell us about that series? PG: Oh, thank you for that! Oberon was my first series and it’s very
dear to my heart. Set in the somewhat magical town of Oberon
California, the stories revolve around a group of women, their
families and their friends. I started writing the series when my
kids were in elementary school. I’d gotten into the habit of meeting
for coffee with a group of the other mothers and, one morning, as we
were seated around a table on this beautiful terrace discussing
various paranormal experiences we’d all had, it just hit me that
this would make a wonderful series.
The first two books are in print, but the rest are only available in
e-format, at this time. However, I just heard from my publisher the
other day and there’s a good possibility the rest of the series may
become available in print soon—POD, probably, Trade Paperbacks,
nice, hefty books, excellent for use as doorstops...preferably
after you’ve read them, of course. ;)
I’ve also recently released two novellas—a prequel and a sequel to
the Oberon series—with four more sequel novellas planned, including
two Christmas stories, one of which I was hoping to be working on by
now.
KR: How did you get your start as a writer, P.G.? PG: Like so many other writers, it seems I’ve always been making up
stories—even before I could read or write. When I was in high school
I wrote a lengthy, serialized fantasy involving a group of teenagers
who move onto an abandoned ranch in New Mexico. The ranch had
previously been used as a commune, but the hippies who’d started it
had all gotten stoned and wandered off by the time the kids found
it. Think a female-centric Animal House, without the college. As I
recall, cute pizza delivery boys figured prominently in the tale. LOL!
KR: How have things changed for you since you first published? PG: I guess the biggest change is that now I have readers—people I don’t
even know who go out of their way to buy my books. On purpose! It
might sound silly, but, honestly, that still blows my mind.
KR: What's your favorite way to interact with readers and fans? PG: Well, I love online chats and author days but I’m terrible at
scheduling them. Becoming more organized about such things is at the
very top of my resolution list every January. But, since both my
husband and son seem to value spontaneity above all other character
traits I just don’t always know what I’ll be doing in
advance...which is why I adore my laptop. And my daughter (a
peaceful, grounded Taurus) who deserves a lot of the credit for
keeping me sane...assuming I am, of course.
I do have an online news/chat group,
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pgforte/) where I can be reached
pretty much any time for spontaneous chats and/or discussions and I’m always glad to hear from readers.
KR: Thank you!
