Reviews for Love Lessons With The Texas Billionaire

5 STARS & TOP PICK: "Jan Bowles has a talent that I haven’t seen in many books lately. Ms. Bowles brought these characters to life so easily I could hear Eva’s English accent. I loved that these two share so many things in common yet deny the attraction is there. Though their pasts are heartbreaking they do love each other. The story line definitely kept its pace, which I liked in this type of story. Jack and Eva are definitely two peas in a pod yet like oil and water they sure do have their ups and down. Loved it." -- Mary, Night Owl Reviews

5 STARS: "Author, Jan Bowles has officially won me over as a fan. I didn’t think she could top her first novel The Return but with her latest one she has done just that. Jack had the Texas charm that you couldn’t help but fall for, even when he was smirking. Eva is a spitfire. She really tested Jack’s patience. No matter how much she pushed his buttons, he was gentle with her; exactly why I liked him. This story is a feel good book. Be warned as this story may have you laughing and crying. Love Lessons with the Texas Billionaire is a must read! You better pick up a copy of this book soon before it flies off the shelves." -- Cheryl, Manic Readers

5 STARS: "Love Lessons With the Texas Billionaire exudes a seductive tone throughout the story. Jack is hard to resist with his simple dialog that says so much about him and the complexities of his vulnerabilities that have him questioning when it comes to Eva. Definitely a keeper, I thoroughly enjoyed Jan Bowles’s book and plan to read more of her stories at every opportunity." -- Emily, Single Titles

4.5 DELIGHTFUL DIVAS: "Love Lessons with the Texas Billionaire by Jan Bowles is a story with a lot of heart and an unbelievable amount of passion. You immediately feel the connection between the hero and heroine. Jan Bowles has captured a soft spot in my heart with this story. Simply put... Wonderful!" -- Deb, Dark Diva Reviews

About Jan Bowles

At present, Jan Bowles lives in the East of England, UK.

She would like to think she's a free spirit, having lived in various parts of the UK and Europe. When she was younger she lived in Los Angeles. She travelled by car across the entire length of Route 66 to Chicago and then finally linked the journey to New York. It was an experience that Jan has never forgotten.

Jan has an inquiring mind, and will often muse about events having an everlasting effect on the human psyche. There is always a reason why people act the way they do. You just have to look below the surface. She hopes to bring these ideas to her writing. Her latest books, The Return, Love Lessons with the Texas Billionaire, and Dark Secrets all have these elements.

When she's not writing Jan likes to paint large landscapes and sweeping vistas. She loves walking, and there's nothing more she'd rather do than stand on the top of a hill with the wind blowing through her hair, and yep, if it's raining that's all the better. Jan say's there's nothing like nature to make one feel truly alive.

An Interview with Jan Bowles
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Jan, thank you for talking with us at TRS! Please tell us about your featured book, Love Lessons With The Texas Billionaire.

JB: Thank you Holly and TRS for the invite.

Love Lessons with the Texas Billionaire, is about two people who come from different sides of the Atlantic, who on first appearances are from totally different backgrounds. As the story develops, we learn that they both have very similar childhoods. Jack McClaine a self-made billionaire is quite open about his. Whereas Eva St. John, finds it hard to discuss her past.

When Eva is sent to shadow Jack McClaine for a magazine article, she intends to remain professional at all times. Jack is such a likeable rogue that she cannot help but fall for him. In order to survive the assignment she must not give him her heart…Jack McClaine a renowned womaniser never stays long with anyone…and she cannot afford another broken heart.

HH: A beauty recovering from a broken heart and a man who thought his heart was untamable. Where did you get the idea for this amazing story?

JB: A very simple idea…opposites attract. In this case they really do. The sparks fly as soon as they first meet, but Eva, aware of Jack’s history, holds out as long as possible.

HH: What do you like best about Eva and how do you relate to her?

JB: Eva is a spitfire. She can hold her own with anyone. Particularly, a certain man called Jack McClaine. She is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Her own childhood has given her a few flaws. That is what I like about Eva. Everyone can relate to her.

HH: What do you like best about Jack and why might he be perfect for her?

JB: I like his easygoing personality. He has no airs and graces. What you see is what you get. And Jack is a very sexy character. He is just perfect for Eva, because he can relate to her on every level. He has always been looking for some one who can understand him, and Eva might just be that woman...

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

JB: I’m writing a series of three cowboy/westerns. They are short reads approximately 20,000 words in length.

HH: What do you think today's readers are looking for and how do you fill that demand in your writing?

JB: Good character development, that readers can believe in. I want readers to pick up my book, and be thoroughly immersed in the story. I want them to remember it long after it’s finished.

I usually write the conversations first, and then layer in the detail. Such as the background, then I add little things like a touch, or a look. I want my characters to come alive. When I get totally immersed in the story, then my readers will, too.

HH: What you most like to accomplish in your writing career?

JB: Good quality books, that people will say. Is that a Jan Bowles? I must buy it.

HH: What makes it all worth it to you as an author?

JB: Reader feedback. Knowing that your stories give readers great pleasure beats working a nine to five job any day.

HH: What are you reading right now?

JB: I’m reading a Diana Palmer novel Dreams End. I’m a big fan of Diana Palmer. I love all her books.

HH: Any big plans for the summer?

JB: I’ve several more ideas in the pipeline. So watch this space...

HH: Thank you!
