"This book is awesome. It was both classic and hot. There was no vulgarity that most common novels retain these days and the humor was dead on. I had only planned on reading for a little while when I started the book and ended up changing my plans so that I could finish it. That should explain it all ;)"

"For the past several months, I've avoided peer reviews because I don't think readers take us seriously, but this book changed my mind. Reading with an internal editor always working is very difficult, but Karen Coté managed to bypass that infernal mechanism in my brain, draw me into her story and made me laugh out loud at her feisty heroine and the hunky sheriff who doesn't let her pull any punches. I'm sure people sitting around me while I waited for my grandson to get out of school wondered what kept me giggling. It's a real, down-to-earth story that moves at a pleasant pace and keep you turning pages. Treat yourself to Erotic Deception...it has a little of everything and you're bound to love it."

"I absolutely loved this book! I started reading it thinking I would read a few chapters for the day. Well that didn't happen! I could not put it down! I was so glad my hubby was home so he could deal with the kids while I read! The characters in the book were so relatable! I laughed out loud and gasped and kept saying oh my gosh! The author made me truly care for the characters and there well being! My hubby of course kept asking for me to fill him in.
You have to read it! It will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time and you will not want to put it down!
I am excited for Karen Coté's next book! I can't wait!"

"An excellent, fast paced read. Lily and Jet sizzle right off the pages. Add in a couple murders, a lot of deceit and devious villains, and I can't wait to read more from this author."

"Erotic Deception held me from the beginning...when I was describing it to my daughter and telling her she HAS to read it to, I told her...the book grabbed me from the worm. I know how weird that sounds, but anyone who can make a worm stand out, that's someone with a full blown ability to give the reader a ride well worth taking.
Not once could I put my Kindle down. I had a delivery, and I usually love seeing my mail lady, but I actually snarled at her because I wanted to get back to my Kindle and the sassy, saucy, brillant Dr. Lily Delaney and her unique spin on accident causations. Good Lord Dr. Delaney knows how to blame one and all...well...except for herself, but you'll understand when you read this story.
I loved the humor, loved the tension, some of it erotic, some of it edge of your seat, nail biting panic, and I loved the caustic interplay between Lily and the poor beleagured sheriff she decides needs her brand of sauce right between the eyes...oh and a few other places too...but again, you'll understand when you read the story.
You've GOT to read the story...trust me, you will so NOT be sorry."

"From the time you start reading you can't put it down. As if you are right there watching everything happen. It keeps you right on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen next. I just love the little guy that starts some of the excitement (worm). This author has it together. I'm not much of a reader but this one got my attention. I purchased 2 of these books and will get 3 more for Christmas gifts."

An Interview with the Karen Coté
By Megan Garbe for The Romance Studio
MG: Karen, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Erotic Deception is an amazing tale of a brave sheriff and a woman in danger. Where did
you get the idea for this story?
KC: Erotic Deception is the first story I attempted to write and I had initially titled it something else and the original work was over 424 pages long. In order to fit it into the genre and submission requirements I'd chosen, I shortened the novel and changed the title. The original story was much more gruesome and more detailed. I suppose I'd always wanted to write such a novel and it was the one to emerge.
MG: What do you like best about Lily and why will readers relate to her?
KC: I like Lily's down-to-earth approach to life and circumstances. She's sarcastic, laden with common sense and doesn't play a victim and although strong, she still holds out that eternal hope of meeting her soul-mate for that happily-ever-after moment.
MG:What do you like best about Jet and why will readers love him?
KC: I do love a tortured hero and despite the inner goodness that can't be denied, Jet is very human in giving up on trust and love. At his core, he is moral and decent and unfortunately those are the qualities hit, which causes his distrust and leaves that vulnerable element I hope women fall in love with.
MG: What, in your opinion, is essential in a good suspenseful story?
KC: At all costs, avoid being obvious or insulting to the reader. I've been blessed in many comments from readers (including my editors) at the suspense within Erotic Deception including a surprise ending. I have to admit to scaring myself while I was writing and that's a good indicator that readers might feel the same.
MG: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
KC: I'm currently working on another romantic suspense except this time, I will take the suspense deeper. My current mentor is John Douglas and reading his detailed accounts of actual Behavioral Science methodology fascinates me and I've already begun incorporating some of these techniques into my current work. The idea for this work initiated off of a real FBI tweet (yes, I follow those guys) and the story seems to have evolved from there.
MG: What draws today's readers to the romance genre in your opinion?
KC: Define romance…there are so many sub-categories it is a difficult question to answer. For example, I enjoy Linda Howard's Mr. Perfect for the suspense element but if the romance was not so strong, I'd pass on it. Romance plays an integral part of many women at some level. It is the most important element to me and I have to believe others agree. I love a strong hero and heroine but then again those can only be described in the eye of the beholder or in this case, the reader.
MG: What's a day in the life of Karen Coté like?
KC: LOL. A routine is essential and I know that. I don't always stick to it, however. A consistent must…wake-up, give much love to my loyal critique partner (she's a black pug) get coffee and spend the next hour with my husband listening to bible scripture from a well-known expositor. Eat breakfast and then workout. After that, hubby goes to work and I sit down in front of my computer. At the end of the day is when my Muse seems to emerge, typically when I lay down to go to sleep. I'm lucky enough to retain the scene and I will play it over and over the next day until I feel confident to put it on paper.
MG: What are you reading at the moment?
KC: Mind Hunter by John Douglas (research for my work-in-progress) Fascinating stuff.
MG: What is one of your all time favorite books?
KC: One, huh? Too hard to commit. Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard. Scream for Me by Karen Rose. Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught, True Confessions by Rachel Gibson, Nobody's Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
MG: Any special plans for the holidays this year?
KC: The holidays have been a magical time for me in reflection and strength. I intend to spend the rest of the year on commitments I made to give back at least a fraction of the blessings I have received. For writing, I'm on an intense study to escalate the suspense in my work while delivering a kick-butt love story.
MG: Thank you!
