Reviews for Staked
"These characters were witty, sexy and altogether great for this interesting paranormal novel. And, the fun part is, that this is a first book in a new series by this 100% talented lady!" – Readers Favorite Book Reviews
"The stage has been set for a great series and a riveting paranormal romance in future books and novellas...Paranormal romance fans who don't care for Sci-Fi need not worry about the Sci-Fi taking over the story. I think fans of both genres, as well as the vampire genre, will enjoy this." – Bitten by Paranormal Romance

An Interview with Sandra Edwards
By Holly Hewson for The Romance StudioHH: Sandy, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Staked. Where did you get the idea for this amazing story of a bounty hunter from the future and a sexy vampire? SE: First, let me say thanks for having me again. Where did the idea for Staked come from... my answer is going to sound lame, but it is the truth. This is one idea that snuck up on me so quietly that I'm not sure where it came from. I started this story back in 2007, so what I do recall was trying to figure a new SL that revolved around time travel and I wanted the traveler to come to our time period, and since TT was part of her job (sort of), she needed to come from the future.
I put the book on the shelf because I just couldn't get it to come together, even though it finaled in/won several RWA chapter awards. Last fall, Stone let me know what the problem was =)
HH: What can you tell us about Ava and why will readers be drawn to her? SE: Ava's a kick-ass heroine with a vulnerable side. And she's just like the rest of us -- when love walks in the door, we lose half our good senses. We may full-well know that this is going to turn out bad, but we just can't help ourselves. After a while, Ava's 100% certain it's not going to end well, but she can't turn her back on Stone.
HH: What can you tell us about Dexter and why will readers love him? SE: The preliminary feedback I've received on Stone is... he's sexy as all get-out. (lol). He's dark and mysterious. The proverbial bad boy that every woman wants to be the one woman who can tame him. We're not quite sure how to take Stone, but every now and then he does something that makes us want to believe he's a good guy.
HH: How did you go about creating the world your series takes place in? SE: It's a lot of hit-n-miss. I spend weeks, sometimes months, working out the basics of the world I'm creating before ever writing a single word of the actual story. And then, the world does tend to evolve as the story progresses. I do get ideas when I'm in the middle or near the end of the first draft that seem to work well with the story, so I end up editing that in during my revisions.
HH: What else do you have in the works? SE: I'm currently working on two projects. Saving Katya is a contemporary romance that takes place at the Winter Olympics. My other project is Desert Heat, book three in the Soul Searchers series. As with its predecessors, it's a mixture of romance, suspense, and a hint of the paranormal.
HH: What would you most like to accomplish in your career this year? SE: I'd like to get Saving Katya and Desert Heat out before the end of the year. If I accomplish that, I'll be one happy camper!
HH: Do you own an ebook reader or read on an electronic device? If so, what? SE: Yes. I own a Kindle 3. Her name is Sheba :)
HH: As a romance reader, what sort of stories do you personally prefer? SE: I like the read the same way I write -- all over the place. lol. I'm not so much concerned with the genre as I am a great story.
HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure? SE: Reality TV and RPG video games. Final Fantasy and Star Ocean are two of my favorite series.
HH: Any vacation or appearance plans this summer? SE: Nothing major. Just a few camping trips. My family enjoys the moto-cross resorts where they can ride their dirt bikes all day long. Me... I just like to stay inside the RV. lol.
HH: Thank you!
