Reviews for No Strings Neighbor

"No Strings Neighbor provides a delightful read. Ms. Jones characters drew me in, made me laugh, smile, and generally care about them. I found Ellie’s struggles tugging at my heart while I hoped her story would not force Greg to give up on his own dreams. Ms. Jones did not disappoint in her resolution of the conflicts between these two. Definitely a worth the time and money purchase." - 5 Diamonds, Becca Dale, Got Romance!Reviews

"Witty characters, tons of emotion, and a heaping portion of sensuality...This is well written and plotted work, with a pace that reveals things just as the reader needs to learn them, including a subplot that offers elements of danger and suspense. Fans of a tempestuous romance, with loves scenes that sizzle and burn, don’t want to miss out on No Strings Neighbor." - 4.5 Books, Fern at Long and Short Reviews

About Tricia Jones

I live in England, where I’m happily married to my own real life hero. There’s bits of him in all my fictional heroes and he’s the best. Doesn’t stop me looking though—especially when I travel. Travel is high on my list of favourite things to do and I can pack a suitcase faster than a girl can sneeze. I'll go anywhere, at any time. France and Italy are special favorites, where there's nothing better than finding a little pavement cafe and checking out all those gorgeous local men - all in the name of research, of course.

An Interview with Tricia Jones
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Tricia, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Please tell us about your featured book, No Strings Neighbor.

TJ: Thank you for having me here. No Strings Neighbor is Ellie and Greg's story. Ellie's carefully constructed world is crumbling around her and she's in fear of losing her home and her job. When Greg arrives on the scene, his only interest is helping out his sister and his best friend until his travel visa arrives. Since they both need a diversion, a simple fling seems perfectly in order. But, of course, it's not that simple :)

HH: Your heroine is losing the security she never had when she was younger. Your hero is on the verge of realizing a dream when he meets her. Where did you get the idea for their amazing story?

TJ: With the rising cost of house purchase here in the UK, there's a growing trend for people to share a mortgage with friends. I wondered what might happen if this arrangement went belly up and how would it impact on the one left to shoulder the financial burden.

As you mention, Ellie craves security, and in the wake of betrayal by a friend who reneges on their agreement to share a mortgage, she has to deal with an unwanted attraction to a man who doesn't intend sticking around for long. By contrast, Greg has had his fill of the settled life and wants to fulfil his goals and ambitions, which means moving to another continent. I wanted to explore what would happen to a couple who, while desperately attracted to each other, had contrasting needs and wants. What would they do when push came to shove?

HH: What do you like best about Ellie and how do you relate to her?

TJ: Ellie and I share a need for home, for security. I love her drive and her determination not to be ground down by events. She'll do what it takes to protect the people she loves, we're alike in that way too.

HH: What do you like best about Greg and why might he be perfect for her?

TJ: I like Greg's outlook on life. He has a strong sense of duty and responsibility, but he also has a cavalier and adventurous spirit. The combination is dynamite. There's also a strong protective instinct which he tries, unsuccessfully, to ignore. While he acknowledges Ellie's independence, his need to protect her gets him into trouble.

HH: Considering today's economy, do you feel readers will relate to your characters?

TJ: I would imagine so. Most of us have been affected in some way by the economic challenges of late, whether personally or through association with others.

HH: What else do you have coming for lucky readers?

TJ: Another contemporary romance, a paranormal on the boil, plus I'm working on my non fiction book Yoga for Writers.

HH: What's your writing time like?

TJ: Recently, it's been very spasmodic, thanks to the day job. Weekends are my most productive time when I can spend the whole day writing, plus some evenings, although after a full day I'm pretty much spent creatively.

HH: What do you consider a successful writing day?

TJ: When I've promised myself to write and I have. These days I'm much better at getting down to writing without succumbing to the distractions of the internet and email.

HH: Do you enjoy hearing from fans?

TJ: Absolutely. It's one of the best parts of being a published writer.

HH: What's the best fan letter/email/interaction you've ever had?

TJ: I received a lovely email from a reader who said she started crying on the first page and was pleased she had tissues at hand because her tears kept on falling for the remainder of the book. Thankfully, the rest of her email confirmed that she'd been crying in a good way :)

HH: Thank you!
