About Amber Kallyn
One of those rare breeds, Amber Kallyn is an Arizona native who can trace her family's history through six generations in the state. She lives with her four very active children. Included in the menagerie are four cats (though there's always room for more) and an adorable baby ball python.
Amber loves the paranormal, from dragons to werewolves to vampires. She's currently at work on her next book, probably running around the house acting out a fight scene with her collection of swords and daggers. Or maybe, wishing she had claws to practice the other fight scenes.
A voracious lover of the written word, Amber found at an early age that she could read fast. Really fast. She devours novels by the day, novellas by the hour, and is always looking to get her hands on more.

An Interview with Amber Kallyn
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Amber, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Magicstorm and it's part of your Heart of a Vampire series. What makes this series different from what readers have seen so far?
AK: Thanks so much for having me, I’m glad to be here :D In my Heart of a Vampire series, while I do have fairly traditional shapeshifters and vampires, they’re also a bit different. For example, my vamps are day walkers who need to eat food in order to keep their souls human. I also tend to write small towns, though Magicstorm (Book 4) does take place in a big city.
HH: What can you tell us about the first books in the series?
AK: The first books in the series, Bloodstorm (Book 1, currently FREE at all e-tailers), Hungerstorm, and Darkstorm all revolve around Vampires learning to love. They might be powerful, immortal and strong, but even they need that connection with someone who can touch their heart, and soul!
HH: How does Magicstorm continue in?
AK: Magicstorm is the story of a Viking vampire warrior, Brandon Wulfgar. He takes the world upon his shoulders (especially regret for his damaged twin brother). He’s never been interested in a “relationship” and he certainly isn’t now, but Celeste is a feisty one he can’t get out of his mind.
HH: Why will readers like Celeste?
AK: Celeste is a big city cop, from a long family-line of cops. It’s not just what she does, but who she is. She only shows the world the tough exterior, but unfortunately for her piece of mind, Brandon sees deeper, to the soft woman inside.
HH: What will readers love about Brandon?
AK:Readers have told me they love seeing the big, strong, stoic Brandon felled by love. He deserves it, they both do. Plus, he’s a hot viking. Yum!
HH: What do you think readers will enjoy most about this world you've created?
AK: The world of the Heart of a Vampire series is full of mythological creatures. I love mythology, and reading about historical beliefs and superstitions--and creatures. But I think the best thing about this world is seeing strong-willed, stubborn people finding that chink in their armor, and figuring out that love truly is worthwhile
HH: What else can readers look forward to from you?
AK: I have more books for this series planned, but up next I’m getting back to a different world I’ve been working on. It’s a historical paranormal romance trilogy, and I’m hoping to have all three books done by later this year.
HoaV book 5 will be Eric Wulfgar, trying to overcome the darkness in his own soul.
HH: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of your writing?
AK: I used to love to draw. For Mother’s Day this year, I got a couple “How to draw” books, and an awesome pencil kit. So, my goal is to get back into that. I’d also like to learn how to paint, I’m just deciding between Oils, or Watercolor (anyone have an opinion on that? : )
HH: What's your favorite quote ever?
AK: Writerly, “You can’t edit a blank page” by Anonymous.
Personal, “Well behaved women never make history” This one is attributed to different women, sometimes Mae West, Marilyn Monroe and sometimes others, LOL.
HH: What's your favorite social media and how to use it to let readers know about your books?
AK: I can be reached through any of the following (but I'm on Twitter several times a day!):
I’m on Twitter most of the time @AmberKallyn.
I post news and new releases on my website, www.AmberKallyn.com, and my newsletter, so that those who want can get alerts and stay up to date.
