Reviews for Eureka Point
"This is a good suspense story. You never know what will happen next. It will keep you on the edge of your seat as you see what will happen next. The description of the locations makes you feel like you are there and see all the beauty that the characters are seeing." - 4 Red Roses, Red Roses For Authors
"This is a story that raises the question; do we really know the people we are married to? Kate’s character is such a normal average person that when she discovers the truth about her husband, her shock is completely identifiable. Tom is a sweet and caring man, just the type of person Kate needs in her life. I felt the excitement and fullness to the story was somewhat flat, but the plot itself flowed nicely and was well conceived." - Coffee Time Romance and More

An excerpt from Eureka Point
About Betty Ann Harris From my home in southeastern Pennsylvania, I can look out at the scenic rolling hills, watch hawks soar above, or see a family of deer run back to their wooded safe haven. It's an ideal place to live and work, and to be inspired. It is from this beautiful place that I write my stories of romance.
I have been a self-admitted hopeless romantic ever since I can remember. My love of words and the English language was developed in elementary school when I had the good fortune of having an awesome sixth grade English teacher. She had the class do a visual book report, either finding or drawing pictures with written captions, to explain what the book we had read was about. It's then I realized how important a writer's description of characters and scenery is when telling a story.
My first published written works were poems, two of which won places as entries as Poetry.com contest winners. One was a poem I wrote after the tragic death of Princess Diana. The other was a lighter theme, a poem about the moon, titled, The Moon Is A Silver Slipper.
I had always enjoyed reading Nancy Drew mysteries when I was a teen, and then became intrigued by a good spy story, like James Bond. As I became a young adult, romance novels would just take me away, to a place I would fantasize about. I combined the two genres, romance and suspense, and my first novella, Eureka Point, was written. It's a spellbinding tale of deceit, danger, love and romance. Eureka Point is available at Red Rose Publishing.
An Interview with Betty Ann Harris
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Betty Ann, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Please tell us about your featured book, Eureka Point. BAH: Eureka Point is a romantic suspense thriller set mostly in the dramatic coastline area of Northern California. It is the first book in a series of books titled The Special Agent Series with Red Rose Publishing.
HH: This is the first in your Special Agents series. First, how did the series come about? BAH: I've always been drawn to spys, special agents, the James Bond movies. I grew up reading mysteries, suspense, and then romance novels. So, writing about special agents just came to me naturally.
HH: How does Eurkea Point kick off the series? BAH: Eureka Point is a natural beginning for the series because the FBI special agent in the story, Tom, is trying to pull his life together after the death of his wife, and Katie, the woman he has been assigned to protect, is forced to start a new life whether she wants to or not. It's a new start for them and a good beginning for the series.
HH: What else can we look for in this exciting new series? BAH: After Eureka Point was released, I immediately dove into the second book in the series, My Very Special Agent, which is a bit darker, and the romance is, well, it's a bit hotter than the first. It's also been labeled as a real page-turner. Third in the series is The Darkhorse Conspiracy, which will be released soon. It's a totally up-to-date, very contemporary story about a special agent who has his hands full trying to save yet another woman in distress and defray a terroristic plot. It's a nail-bitter.
HH: What do you like best about Katie Montgomery and how do you relate to her? BAH: Katie Montgomery is taken totally by surprise by her husband's deceit and the crimes he has commited, and is also devastated by the fact that she had been married to him for almost ten years and he didn't care what happened to her. What I admire about her is that she picks herself up, dusts herself off, and has the strength to take this terrible thing that has happened to her and go on with her life. She doesn't just accept it because she has no choice, but she picks herself up by her bootstraps, as they say, and although scared, forges positively ahead with her new life.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers? BAH: I'm currently writing the fourth book in the Special Agent Series that I hope will have my readers saying that they never expected some of the things that happen in the story. I love to pull "gottcha's" on my readers. This fourth book is full of gottcha's.
HH: How did you get your start as a writer? BAH: I actually started writing poetry when I was a teenager. Several years ago I wrote two poems that won publication as winners at Poetry.com. Then I kept thinking of this story, plotting it in my mind. That story turned into Eureka Point.
HH: What can you tell us about making that first sale? BAH: Having a publisher contact you to say, we like your manuscript and we want to publish it, is acceptance of a writer's hard work. The first sale is wonderful!
HH: How have things changed for you since then? BAH: I truly believe I've become a better writer with each book I write. I'm constantly finding out how time-consuming the whole writing thing is with writing, editing, marketing, promo-ing, etc. But I still feel priviledged to be doing something I enjoy so much.
HH: How do you plan to spend the summer? BAH: I plan on taking a few days off here and there, gardening, going to several concerts, reading, and of course, writing.
HH: Thank you!
