Marcus fights his attraction to the lavender eyed beauty who talks like she stepped out of My Fair Lady. After all, he’s no Henry Higgins, plus he got over the sex thing centuries ago. Besides, as the new King of the Vampires, who has time for women?
Reviews for Dead Faint
Alternative-Read.com:
"This has been one of the most FUN reads I've had in a bit. I truly enjoyed watching the way all these wonderfully wierd and wacky characters played off one another while pulling together a storyline that was cohesive, well rounded and yet entertaining. I love a story that can make me laugh aloud as I read and this one did several times. I hope to read more from Ms. Leaf." WitchGiggles
By Love Romances & More Reviews:
"Although there are a lot of laughs in this story, it is a powerful read with a romance that is intense and sizzling. If you’ve never read a story by this talented author, I would strongly suggest you get on it right away. You will not be disappointed at all." Valerie

An Interview with Lizzie T. Leaf
By Holly Hewson for The Romance StudioHH: Lizzie, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Please tell us about your featured story, Dead Faint. LL: Dead Faint is the second book in my "Dead" series at Aspen Mountain Press. The heroine, Billie Joyce always dreamed of a trip to NYC and when she had the opportunity, set out to live the dream. She runs into a problem though...she hates the big city and is ready to scurry back to the safety of her mountain home when she is attacked and stabbed. Not wanting to die, she beggs the angel who appears at her side to save her. The angel grants her wish not to die, but she wakes up to discover her life changed forever...that was no angel. The beautiful blonde was a vampire, and now Billie Joyce is one of the living dead...who faints at the sight of her new food supply.
HH: Your heroine was saved by a vampire -- and now she's one. She hates the sight of blood. Where did you get the idea for this very clever story? LL: Holly, a friend of mine thought a vampire fainting at the sight of blood would make a funny story. She convinced me that my twisted sense of humor was exactly what a story like that needed. The damage was done... the seed planted and the idea wouldn't leave me alone until Billie Joyce got her say.
HH: Dead Faint was a 2008 Nominee for Best Vampire at Love Romances Cafe. What can you tell us about that? LL: I am honored to have been nominated with such an outstanding group of authors. I almost feel out of my chair when I received the email... LOL. So thank you, to whoever nominated Dead Faint and all the readers who voted for it!
HH: What do you like best about Billie and how do you relate to her? LL: Billie has spunk and she's ready to tackle things head on. It may take her a few minutes to mull over the issue, but then she takes it from there. I can relate to coming from a Southern background and not having a lot of money, but love more than making up for the material things you may not have. Also, I was very close to a grandmother figure in my childhood...probably closer than to my mother.
HH: Why do you like Marcus and why is he perfect for her? LL: Marcus has been around the block a few times and thinks he know it all...I mean look how old he is! He can get a little full of himself and needs a woman like Billie Joyce to keep him humble.
HH: What can you tell us about the forthcoming Dogspell? LL: Dogspell is releasing early summer from Red Rose Publishing. It was originally a short novella in an anthology with another publisher that I took my rights back on when my contract expired. RRP wanted it, but asked me to expand and it's almost double the original story. The story is about Rand, a man who gets turned into a dog when his younger witch sisters misdirect a spell. While chasing a cat, he's hit by a car driven by a vet. She takes him home to stay with her while she tries to locate his owner. He comes to realize this is the woman of his dreams and has to find a way to get back home and discover a way to break the dog spell. The family's familiar, Simma, a large black cat, plays a role in finding him. Then the rush is on to find a permanent reversal of the spell. Will Rand find the magic he needs to spend his life with the woman he loves as his true self, or has he gone to the dogs.
HH: How do you balance a writing career with the rest of your life? LL: Some days, I don't. I strive to set a schedule, but if something happens family wise...well, that takes priority and then I get to play catch up on the work. My family is very supportive and if I say "no" to a request when I'm on a deadline, they understand, but there are times emergencies come up and they need me.
HH: Where and when do you do your best work? LL: I share an office with my husband and there are times his clutter gets to me, then I take my laptop and move my work downstairs into the dining room so I can spread out without his stuff getting mixed with mine.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career? LL: Once I finish the current work in progress, then I start querying agents about it. I also have several mainstream/women's fiction books on the drawing board and plan to start on one of those next, so I guess a genre switch is coming.
HH: Will you be attending any conventions, conferences, or other events this year? LL: Currently, the only conference I'm attending is in May. I'll attend the Colorado Romance Writers conference, Romancing the Rockies, in Denver on May 1st & 2nd. I have a trip planned with my husband that will take up a couple of weeks and we have family visiting this summer. Those things are probably enough distractions for this year if I'm going to get the planned books done.
HH: Thank you!
