While Edge doesn't know for sure what it will take to get him into Heaven, there is one thing he's certain won't help -- his latest assignment guiding angel-baby Matteo Matinucci while the newbie find his wings. But twenty-something Mattie -- sexy, beautiful, recently departed and openly gay -- could turn out to be the answer to all of Edge's prrayers, as well as the fulfillment of all his fantasies, even the hot, sweaty, secret ones he's never confided to anyone. Warning: This book contains angels in the afterlife, a host of heavenly hotties worth falling for, and man on man angel sex -- so good, you?'ll be dying to get some.

An Interview with P.G. Forte
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: PG, thank you for talking with us at TRS! Please tell us about your featured book, Edge of Heaven.PG: Thank you, Holly! I'm always happy to be here. Edge of Heaven is a somewhat irreverent look at life in the afterlife. When the story opens Edge is resigned to being stuck in limbo for a long, long time. Meeting Mattie motivates him to change that, but it's a huge struggle for him because he really doesn't want to deal with the issues that sent him there in the first place.
HH: Where did you get the idea for this amazing tale of sexy men and fallen angels? PG: I've always loved writing about angels, but I have to admit these are some very different angels, even for me! Within the world of this book a variety of angels exist, including some who used to be human. Edge is one of these. He's a very, very human angel. I think he was inspired in part by Cary Grant in The Bishop's Wife and John Travolta in Michael.
This is one of those books where the beginning pretty much wrote itself. Originally, it was an f/m story -- but that's just because Edge was in deniaal about his orientation. It wasn't until Mattie showed up that he (and I!) finally got a clue about where the story was heading.
HH: What do you like best about Edge and how do you relate to him? PG: Because this book is told in first person present tense, Edge is forced to be very honest and open about his feelings -- even the ones he'd like to deny having. It makes himm vulnerable and I really like that about him. He struggles with his feelings and he's very funny. I think what I like best, however, is how besotted he eventually becomes with Mattie. He gets to the point where he can't believe how far he's fallen -- but rather than regret that, he's just endlessly grateful to have had the opportunity. It's sweet and it's what eventually "saves" him. I just can't help loving him for that.
How do I relate to him? Hmm... that's a tough one. He's kind of a mess so I'm not sure I'd want to admit relating to him, to be honest. He does know his limitations though, and he does eventually learn from his mistakes. I'd like to think I can relate to that aspect of his personality.
HH: How did you go about creating the world for this story? PG: That was actually pretty tricky. The location wasn't that hard, but the fact that time doesn't exist in my afterlife means everything happens in the present. That drove my line editor nuts. Hopefully, her suffering was worth it and we've straightened things out enough that readers won't find it too confusing. LOL!
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers? PG: I recently submitted the second book in my Children of Night series to my editor and I have my fingers crossed she likes it. That's Conrad and Damian's story, btw, so if it sells, it will be my second m/m story. And right now I've just begun working on another "angels in limbo" story tentatively titled Nearer Than Heaven. This one is an m/m/m, which should be a lot of fun!
HH: What do you think today's readers are looking for in the romance genre? PG: I think they're looking for the same things they've always looked for: Memorable characters they can relate to. A good story that engages them emotionally. And a little bit of heat -- okay, maybe more than a little bit.
HH: What changes do you see coming in the genre and how will it affect you? PG: I think ebooks are finally taking off (fingers crossed, knock on wood) which can only be a good thing for me. At least I hope so! I think as e-readers become more popular and affordable more people will discover the really great books put out by epubs.
HH: What do you enjoy most about being a writer? PG: Wow. What don't I like? I love the creativity, the characters. I love being able to create worlds and share them with readers. I love spending time with other writers -- ‘cause we're all crazy in the same way and it's a relief not having to explain myself to them!
HH: Do you read print books, ebooks, or both? PG: I mostly read ebooks. I generally find epubbed books more to my taste for one reason, for another I’ve fallen completely in love with my nook.
HH: Any big plans for the fall? PG: Well, I do have a print release due out October 5th (In the Dark, Samhain) so I’d love to set up some book signing events?possibly connected to Halloween especially because of the vampire connection. Other than that, I have a couple of trips tentatively planned, including one to my old high school for a reunion -- that should be interesting!
HH: Thank you!
