About Marie Harte Marie Harte is a professed bibliophile with an addiction to romance. She's fond of things that go bump in the night, especially if they happen to be tall, dark and handsome. Life has given her some interesting insights into the male mind. After majoring in English in college, she spent several years in the Marine Corps, followed by stints in Information Technology, logistics, and the transportation field. Note: herding cats is easier than trying to manage truck drivers. Now a crazy woman with children, she spends most of her time bugging her kids to do their homework when not typing with a mad zeal to make deadlines. She's addicted to chocolate covered pretzels and email, so feel free to drop her a line.

An Interview with Marie Harte
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Marie, thank you so much for talking with us. Your featured book is Wolf Wanted. First, where did you get the idea for this striking paranormal romance?MH: Total E-Bound had an open call for a werewolf anthology in 2009 called Over the Moon. I started Wolf Wanted and then realized TEB wanted hetero stories for the collection, yet Wolf Wanted was a romance between two male characters, so I shelved it and wrote about the main character's twin instead.
HH: What do you like about Anson and why will readers relate to him? MH: Anson's pack has expectations about him because of his birthright. He doesn't want to be clan leader, and he wants to be desired for more than his ability to harness powerful magic. I think we all want to be wanted for more than surface reasons, to be desired for who we are inside.
HH: What do you like best about Liam and why will readers love him? MH: Liam's hard on the outside but soft on the inside. He's a happy-go-lucky demon very much at peace with himself--when he's whole. And heck, he's part incubus. What's not to love about that?
HH: This is truly an original take on the werewolf story. What sort of research did you do for this work? MH: None. I've been to Stuttgart, and researched Alaska some. But the rest of it is all fiction. Yeah, I'm lazy that way.
HH: What will readers love about Anson and Liam's story? MH: It's sexy. The heroes are confrontational first; they don't easily fall in love. I really like stories where the main characters struggle to build a relationship. It's no fun when it's too easy.
HH: What else do you have in the works for lucky readers? MH: Hmm.... LOTS on my plate. I have five releases already contracted for this year. One futuristic with Ellora's Cave, a steampunk with Carina Press, a romantic suspense with Samhain, and two paranormals from Loose Id. Yeah, busy, busy me. Talson's Wait -- March (EC); Journeyman's Ride -- April (Carina); Retrocog -- May (Loose Id); Storming His Heart -- June (Samhain); Whispered Words -- August (Loose Id).
HH: How do you balance a writer career with the rest of your life? MH: Thankfully, my littlest guy is in kindergarten this year, so all of my kids are either graduated or in school. I work from eight to five each day, usually taking off weekends. I only work nights if I'm on a strict deadline. I'll admit, sometimes (most times) the house is messy, dinner is late, and I'm behind on the laundry. But in a choice between writing or cleaning, writing wins out, hands down.
HH: If you weren't a writer, you'd be a...? MH: Reader wishing I was a writer.
HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure? MH: Chocolate-covered pretzels. It's bad. I have an addiction.
HH: What is your biggest hope for 2011? MH: That the current project I'm working on does as well as I think it should. :)
HH: Thank you so much!
