The Daybreak 2525 Series
War, over-population, pollution and generations of uncaring, greedy governments have finally brought about the collapse of world as we know it.
It's the year 2525 and the cities are dead, or very nearly so. The remnant of humanity struggle for survival along with a menagerie of wildlife that oftentimes isn't native to the land it now inhabits. New plant life thrives, the old withers and dies. Marauding bands of thugs travel from village to village, taking what they will and destroying the rest.
This is the world Doc was born into. Pearl, his mother, is a healer. His father was a warrior of the tribe. Doc takes on the roll of both, as needed. His lover, Jazz, means the world to him. Together, they have a bond that's unbreakable. Their family means everything to them and they'll do whatever it takes to protect them.
This is their story.

About Jude Mason Multi-published Canadian author, Jude Mason, writes in a variety of genres and adores stretching the boundaries. The bulk of her work has been m/m of late but D/s and femdom hold a special place in her heart. She's also enjoyed straying into fetish, pulp fiction, f/f, paranormal and sci-fi, among others. A picture, a smell, an unexpected glimpse of flesh, or a load of soil in the back of a pick-up, are all fodder for her writing. Her male characters run the gamut from the alpha male ruling his women with an iron fist, to a simpering purple-clad boy-toy, whose only desire is to please. As diverse and as richly depicted, her women find themselves in a myriad of exotic and erotic situations, and are as lusty as their male counterparts, of not more so. Jude has work in print, e-book form and audio

An Interview with Jude Mason
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Jude, thank you so much for talking with us. Your featured book is Doc and it's the first book in the Daybreak 2525 series. First what can you tell us about the series?JM: Hi Holly, thank you so much for having me. I love you all at TRS!
Rubbing hands together. I've been so wanting to share a little about Doc. Think of a future where pollution, greed and disease have decimated the human population and what we know as civilization is pretty much fallen apart. Cities are death traps where marauding bands of men hold up and enjoy the fruits of their raids or harass the local, starving, populous.
Okay, got that pictured?
So, the area away from the cities has gone back to nature. Small groups of people have joined together in villages where they grow food for themselves and have limited trade with others who aren't too far away.
Doc is exactly what his name states. He's the son of a warrior. His mother is the tribe's healer. Doc is a bit of both. He's also very sexual and enjoys the company of Jazz, his steady boyfriend, as well as anyone else who's interested. He's an equal opportunity type lover, and takes pleasure in both men and women.
HH: How does Doc kick off the series? JM: Doc has been away from the village for a few weeks tending to the injuries of a man on one of the local farmsteads. When he returns, he finds the village in ruins and many good friends and companions dead. His family, mother, father and sister are gone, as far as he can judge at the beginning. His lover, Jazz is nowhere to be found.
It's up to Doc to both help those who survived the attack and remained in the village, and find the one's who'd been taken.
HH: What can you tell us about Doc and why will readers love him? JM: He's a sweetie. He cares for other people so deeply you'll fall for him just for that. Add that he's one hot, lusty man who craves sex more than food, and you've got a real find.
HH: What can you tell us about Jazz and why is he perfect for Doc? JM: Ah, Jazz, the man who seems to have tamed the wildness in Doc. He's the man who teases Doc like no other. He doesn't seem overly impressed with Doc's status in the village, and that's something Doc's not used to. He likes it though and he loves how Jazz teases him, and that Jazz would do anything for him.
HH: What can you tell us about the books to come in this series? JM: The second in the series will be called Jazz. As you might gather, this will be told from his point of view and entails the duo traveling to the nearby city to rescue Doc's sister.
Book 3 will be from his sister's point of view. After that, I'm toying with the idea of having each book told by someone whose life Doc has affected. Some adventure they go on together or some mystery Doc and Jazz help solve.
HH: What else do you have in the works for lucky readers? JM: At the moment, I'm working on revising an older trilogy which was unfinished. The Dealing Trilogy follows the lovely vampire Sabrina and her lover Matt, who was a homicide detective in L.A.. The duo travel from the US, to Great Britain in the second book and finally, in book 3, to Canada.
HH: How do you balance a writer career with the rest of your life? JM: It's definitely been a challenge of late, but I do the best I can. Family always comes first, so at times writing really does take a back seat. I try to put in a couple of hours a day at the computer, writing or editing, but sometimes even that is difficult. I guess, like everyone, I just do the best I can.
HH: If you weren't a writer, you'd be a...? JM: A resident in the nearest loony bin?
I wonder if that isn't truer than I like to really think about, LOL. Whatever I did would be related to writing in some way, I'm sure. I enjoy web design, but have never been taught how to do it, so maybe something there. Editing or proofing is also an option. Oh, I'm also a pretty good cook, so possibly something to do with the kitchen. Lots of choices, but it scares me to think I wouldn't be writing too.
HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure? JM: Today, I'm going to say cheesecake. Ask me tomorrow and I know it'll be something else, but today I so crave a nice big slice of cheesecake with chocolate swirls, maybe a strawberry drizzle over the top. My mouth is sooo watering!
HH: What is your biggest hope for 2011? JM: This might sound odd, but I really just hope for some peace in my life. After that, I think things would fall into place and I'd be able to settle down and write those stories I have waiting for me.
HH: Thank you!
