The child of a painter and a psychic dreamer, Saloni Quinby feels spirituality and storytelling go hand-in-hand. She loves the scent of gardenia, the sound of wind chimes and the taste of honey. By listening to what isn’t said, she creates works based on unspoken desires. Saloni prefers blurred gender lines and many varieties of romance. In a world where passion must at times be restrained, she believes erotica is a pleasure to be shared. With her stories she would like to make her fantasies yours and hopes you enjoy the ride.

An Interview with Saloni Quinby
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Saloni, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Swordmaster. Where did the idea for this beautiful story?
SQ: I wanted to write a story involving a variety of couples whose lives were intertwined.
HH: What can you tell us about Hugh and why will readers relate to him?
SQ: Hugh is trying to find a balance between what he really wants out of life and what's expected of him. Even though Hugh's case is extreme, I think in a way it's something most people can relate to.
HH: What can you tell us about Briar and why will readers love him?
SQ: Unlike Hugh, Briar was raised in a very open-minded, loving environment. Even though he lost his biological family when he was very young, his foster father is very supportive. Briar is a free spirited person and he won't back down from his beliefs for anyone, but he has a sensitive side. Usually Briar's first instinct is to help others. I think his code of honor makes him admirable, but also gets him into trouble at times.
HH: What sort of research was required to bring this story so stunningly to life?
SQ: Since it's set in a fantasy world most of my time was spent building the world for the characters. It's similar to medieval Earth, but not exactly. Some things about the world will seem familiar, but it's not set in a particular time or place from our world.
HH: What was your favorite part of writing this emotionally-charged tale?
SQ: My favorite part is seeing the characters learn from each other, not just the heroes but the secondary characters as well. While the story focuses on Hugh and Briar, other characters are important to their development and the overall storyline. In this story my favorite part was seeing the three couples finally have their happily ever after. The F/F love scene was cut from the final, but the publisher released their wedding night scene as a free story, so anyone interested in reading it can find it as a free Encounter called The Wedding Night on the Changeling Press site.
HH:What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
SQ: Right now I'm working on a M/M futuristic romance.
HH: Where can readers find all of your works?
SQ: As Saloni Quinby my stories are available at Changeling Press. I also write under the name Kate Hill. More information about works under both names can be found at http://www.kate-hill.com.
HH: What would we find in your to-be-read pile?
SQ: I love reading all kinds of romance and I also enjoy horror and science fiction.
HH:What in person or online appearances will you be making this year?
SQ: I participated in the May New Release Party here at The Romance Studio and I hope to participate in more of the New Release Parties this year.
HH: When you're not reading or promoting you like to_____?
SQ: I like to work out and watch horror movies.
HH: Thank you!
