Drake meets Martin, the husband of a childhood friend of his sister, on Thanksgiving at his parent's house on Lake Lanier. From the start, something tells him Martin is more than just a casual acquaintance and could become much more if only Pirate Drake fell into his incredible attraction. But as it is, Drake has no experience with men and isn't really looking for one. So despite Martin's sexual advances, they end up keeping their distance. Once the weekend's over, Drake returns to the city, convinced he'll never see Martin again, but destiny pulls them together again on a work project. Forced in close contact, Drake will slowly come to see him in a very different way, letting Martin seduce him into a new perception and the start of a different life.

Reviews for To Seduce a Soulmate

"To Seduce a Soulmate is about Drake and Martin, and their path to finding their soul mate. However, this book is about so much more, as it carries a message about homosexuality."

"I can’t really say that I liked Martin in the beginning. He seemed so rough and unfeeling with his wife, and he admits to being unfaithful. I quickly learned that To Seduce a Soulmate has nothing to do with faithfulness, as most characters in this book do not have that trait. I did learn to respect Martin. He is honest and he knows what he wants."

"I did enjoy Drake a bit more. His personal growth in this book was the best part. When he meets Martin, he immediately feels the connection, but he fights it with everything he has in him. Laura Tolomei did a great job of showing Drake’s emotions and struggles as he comes to terms with his relationships and feelings."

"This is not a sweet romance which includes loyalty, faithfulness and devotion. However, if you enjoy reading about characters who must face a personal challenge, and must grow and learn before the issue can be resolved, then To Seduce a Soulmate is a good choice for you." - Dark Diva Review 4 Delightful Divas

An Interview with Laura Tolomei
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Please tell us about your latest release, To Seduce a Soulmate.

LT: Dedicated to all those who believe in destiny and in the existence of a soul mate, To Seduce a Soulmate is a delightful Christmas story, a bit off my usual fantasy/horror genre. But not to worry, like in my best traditions, it's strictly M/M, even if it happens in modern day USA , Atlanta for that matter in the period that goes between Thanksgiving and Christmas. One month might seem exaggerated to seduce a soul mate, someone who by definition should have no reservations about falling in love with the one person destiny selected for him, but such is life, presenting us with difficult choices to make, particularly when it comes to love. And nothing felt more upsetting than discovering Martin was Pirate Drake's soul mate. So dilemmas about gender, feelings, connections and sex made it all the more difficult to make a choice, if Drake would ever make one. Or maybe Martin's ability would conquer him in the end? And what about the craving, the passion, the burning desire? Well, it's all there in To Seduce a Soulmate, my Christmas release by eXtasy Books.

HH: Two gorgeous heroes but only one who knows what he wants. You've taken a traditional story and put a unique spin on it. Where did you get the idea for their story?

LT: Actually, a friend of mine gave me the inspiration for the leading character because she was always talking about one of her company's manages and I was so fascinated, I got to fantasize about him until my Martin popped out. From there, I mixed in my beliefs about soul mates, reincarnation, destiny, Indian traditions, Plato's theories to create the new twists you'll find in To Seduce A Soulmate.

HH: What do you like best about Martin and how do you relate to him?

LT: Mostly, he's straightforwardness, the fact he doesn't lie to people simply to assuage their egos or to get what he wants from them. He's not one to fake feelings in order to use them against someone and even more importantly, he's honest with himself, a rare quality in today's world. True, he's the unfaithful kind, too, but I think that adds to his character because he's always moving on, always in search of something different and better. Like him, people and situations easily bore me so need to change them often in order to improve myself. But what I strongly relate to is his inner honesty, a quality I couldn't live without.

HH: What do you like about Drake?

LT: I really like his sense of adventure, his search for freedom no matter what and even his wild imagination. Mostly, I love the fact he doesn't stop at society's conventions when faced with something radically different, but tries to go beyond them, even if it implies a thorough self-analysis in order to accept a choice that strays from the usual path.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

LT: First of all, Book 1 The Sex of my new series, Virtus Saga will be out Feb. 15 by eXtasy Books. M/M, ménage, fantasy, paranormal, those are the genres for the beginning of a sweeping adventure, protagonists a prince, his lover and his woman and a magical three-sided pyramid that influences the world they live in, Sendar. When the pyramid is stolen, they're summoned by the High Council to find it and return it to its rightful place, but the journey will uncover more truths than they might be prepared to handle. Then in June, Book 2 The Game will be out, as the journey continues inside a twisted sexual game of masters and slaves, whose effects will be far reaching.

On April 15, Tasting Leon's Mark will be available at Whiskey Creek Press. A full length M/M, ménage, contemporary novel, I consider it one of my best works yet! A fast paced plot, it blends two men's struggle to find a balance in a relationship that they have forget through consecutive lifetimes, taking different shapes only to pursue their bloody sex game, until they incarnated as Sean and Leon in 21st Century Earth and decided to change the game. But balance is difficult to achieve and they'll have to rely heavily on a woman, Janet, who alone can make them grow and understand themselves.

HH: What do you think draws female romance readers to M/M fiction?

LT: The exciting sex LOL

HH: What do you enjoy about writing it?

LT: The fact it allows me to shed light on some of our prejudices regarding same gender relationships and all their negative consequences. We are just so used to labels -- gay, lesbian, homosexual, heterosexual -- we can't seem to do without them. No, the world is full of PEOPLE, not gays, not lesbians, not homosexuals, but INDIVIDUALS who happen to have certain sexual tastes and make definite choices about them. So I don't find it acceptable they should be confined to a convenient category and placed at the edges of society only because their sexual identity doesn't follow the standard model. That's why I love the genre and will keep writing it in hope readers might learn something from it.

HH: What do you consider a really satisfying writing day?

LT: The day I manage to translate on paper exactly what I imagined during the day. Often I envision scenes, situations, dialogue fragments about a novel I'm writing, but not always I'm able to repeat them on my Word files, not the exact sensations, words or atmosphere. Then there are those rare days I simply sit down at my computer and the words coming out of the keyboard are the same running through my head and that's what I consider a satisfying writing day!

HH: What do you personally enjoy reading?

LT: Just about anything, except for horror, too scary for my sensitive tastes. In fact, in my life I read most genres, though I must confess not erotica, but today I'm so hard pressed for time what with my writing, a regular job, a family and 5 cats to look after, I really don't have a lot of time to devote to reading.

HH: What would you most like to accomplish this year?

LT: Like old Spock said, to live long and prosper.

HH: Thank you!
