Nothing can endanger the vampires' existence. Theron, known in the club as Tac, will destroy any who try. He is dominant and dangerous—in total control of his world. He lives only for sex and blood. He has never been emotionally involved with anyone. Now, a human has slipped into his life and under his skin, making him want more than meaningless sex with blood slaves. But Theron will never allow a mere mortal to bring him to his knees.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of smoking-hot men engaged in multiple-partner sex and bondage.
Reviews for Dark Man
"KyAnn Waters' Dark Man is the third book in the Blood Slaves series. The series gets better with each new tale. We finally see Tac find out the true meaning of love and watch him fight it every step of the way. Vance has his own personal issues to overcome, as well as a secret to uncover. I wasn't sure of his motives when he was first introduced, but found his cause admirable. A majority of this story takes place in The Catacombs, the BDSM club, and well as the underbelly of the club, that Tac considers home. It is a wonderful backdrop for this story. Vance has to understand how much his life will be altered with a romance involving Tac, so what better location than where Tac dwells. Ms. Waters' has created fascinating characters for this fantastic series. She mixes action and suspense, mixed in with some luscious sex. I recommend Dark Man to those who enjoy reading gay paranormal romance stories." - 5 Nymphs, Literary Nymphs
"Talk about a story worth waiting for. Theron is as hot as I remembered and then some. I loved how his relationship with Vance advanced, as well as his development as a character along the journey. Vance is perfect as the mortal who will bring a powerful immortal to his knees. His no-holds-barred approach to Theron causes the pages to wilt and wither, to the point that you can literally feel the tension and desire between them. The sex scenes sizzle and the emotion is so prominent that oftentimes it's difficult to breathe. I couldn't wait to learn what happened next and was captivated by the dynamic. There is nothing better than an alpha hero learning that one's heart doesn't necessarily reside inside their chest, but rests entirely in the hands of another."
"A must read for M/M vampire fans, as well as those who adore the series. I loved Dark Man and was thrilled to have the opportunity to read and review it. This is one is going on the keeper shelf!" - 5 Cherries, Whipped Cream Reviews
"As Dark Man progresses, the intense desire the two males have for each other builds until finally both are forced to give in to their mutual love. Watching the progression of the relationship between Theron the vampire and Vance the mortal (who's hot in his own right, which makes for double the pleasure, double the fun for this reader!) is a wonderful thing to behold. I loved every couple in each of the three books in this series but am extra glad that I finally had the opportunity to dig deep into Theron, find out his secrets and watch him find happiness. While this is definitely a stand-alone read, I always recommend starting at the beginning of a series so you don't miss out on anything! But if you don't, Theron and Vance will not disappoint!" - 4.5 Diamons, Got Erotic Romance

An Interview with KyAnn Waters
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: KyAnn, thank you for talking with us at TRS! Please tell us about your featured book, Dark Man.KW: I'm thrilled to be here. And thank you for giving gay romance such a wonderful spotlight on the Rainbow Studio!
Dark Man is my favorite of the three Blood Slaves stories. While writing the first book Ice Man, Theron pulled me in so many directions. There were moments when I hated him, then I loved him. In the end, he's complicated and hopefully when reading Dark Man, readers will begin to understand him. Everything he does is in service to his sect of vampires. Theron is one of those deliciously tortured souls. He's fiercely protective of his vampire world. He's strong, yet doesn't trust easily. When it came time to write his story, I needed to give him a strong love interest. He's a Dom, but would never be happy with a sub who wasn't a challenge. Vance fit him perfectly. There are some intense bondage scenes in Dark Man.
HH: This is the third story in your Blood Slaves series. Where did the idea for this amazing series come from? KW: For a vampire, mortality is a death sentence. So what if mortality was a disease? And if I made women the carriers of the disease I'd have the makings of a great gay saga full of yummy hot vampires and men who serve them. This is the story arc of the Blood Slaves series. In the first three stories, you know that there are seven master vampires. These are the only survivors of the disease that nearly eradicated the vampire species and now these seven are the only vampires allowed to sire others.
HH: What can you tell us about Ice Man and Iron Man? KW: Ice Man – Titled for Rowan, the flair bartender in the fetish club, The Catacombs.
Ice Man, for me, was the most emotional of the Blood Slaves stories. Rowan is a blood slave and yet he's torn. He serves Theron and the vampires, (the Sect) because he doesn't feel as if he belongs anywhere else. The high from feeding is like a drug and he is like an addict. When he meets Brett, he wants what he considers a real relationship but as a blood slave, he will never be allowed to leave the Sect. The end of this story twisted my stomach into knots. Rowan is determined to be with Brett and one way or another Theron will keep him in the Sect.
Iron Man – Titled for Adam. Adam is known in the Catacombs as Iron Man because he wears a steel cock plug and harness.
In Iron Man, you'll meet Rafe and his blood slave, Adam. This story delves more deeply into the BDSM elements and the sex club, the Catacombs. This story also lays the groundwork for Dark Man. Vampires have gone rogue, feeding on the streets and risking the Sect. There is also grumblings of unrest with some of the vampires. This will play out more in subsequent books. In Iron Man, you'll also see Theron change a blood slave to a vampire. You'll get greater details about the Catacombs.
HH: How does Dark Man continue the series and will there be more? KW: Dark Man is titled for Vance. Vance was a joy to write, but it may just have been my thrill at giving Theron a character to make him sweat for all the right reasons. Dark Man takes place in the vampire's lair. They dwell in secrecy beneath the club in a cluster of catacombs. This story is rife with betrayal, revelation, sacrifice and retribution. Theron finally allows himself to love. But in doing so, he may destroy the Sect he's sworn to protect.
And I would love to continue the story. Drake is waiting for me to write his story next. And for those who have read the stories, don't count Falcon out yet.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers? KW: Right now, I don't have anything "coming soon." However, there is plenty in the queue. Beautiful Storm, Born into Fire, and Miranda's Rights are under consideration with editors. And Bent For His Will, a new m/m/f ménage is ready to submit. So check my website for updates.
HH: What do you think today's readers are looking for and how do you fill that demand in your writing? KW: I think book lovers just want a well-written story that is entertaining to read. I hope every story I write reaches its potential. I don't want characters or sex to become routine, monotonous or predictable.
HH: What are you most proud of in your writing career? KW: That I have a career at all is amazing. I wrote for so long without ever attempting to publish. That readers actually like what I write is the most incredible feeling. I still get those first tingles with every story I write. I fall in love with every hero. Double the fun on my gay (m/m) stories.
HH: What makes it all worth it to you as an author? KW: Writing is my pleasure and is finally becoming my career. I spend time with the characters, send them on amazing journeys where they have incredible sexual encounters and then the story ends and the work begins. Publishing and all that the process entails has often been an overwhelming experience, but also so very thrilling.
HH: Do you read print books, ebooks, or both? KW: Both, but I’m no longer buying print books, just reading those that have been on my shelf for a while. E-pubs are getting all my book dollars now.
HH: Any big plans for the summer? KW: Oh I wish. We’re having a new roof put on the house. I have two boys and there is an amusement park/water park about twenty minutes down the highway. Every week we’re finding time to have fun in the sun.
HH: Thank you!
