An Interview with Sara York
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Sara, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Working it Out. Where did the idea for this story of two sizzling men?

SY: I've always believed love is love. Once I thought of Jake, Lance was a natural. Jake needed someone to help him heal and the only one possible was Lance, another hot guy.

HH: What do you like best about Jake and why will readers relate to him?

SY: Jake is sensitive, smart and loving. It's a bonus that he's totally sexy. The guy has been down in the dumps because his long time lover passed away six months ago.

HH: What can you tell us about Lance and why will readers love him?

SY: Lance is totally in the closet but he wants a relationship so bad he can almost taste it. When he finds Jake he almost takes advantage of him. He's super sweet and loving, but his most admirable quality is his willingness to take a chance on love.

HH: With the popularity of M/M genre, how did you go about making this story stand out?

SY: I think Working It Out stands out because of the strong love story. Both guys want love, not just another hook up. They work hard at making their relationship work and have to overcome many obstacles through the story.

HH: What else do you have in the works?

SY: I have a cougar menage coming out on October 3rd with Rebel Ink and a couple of firemen stories that are in the works. I've also got M/M cop book that's gritty.

HH: What made you decide that writing was the creative outlet for you?

SY: I've had my nose in a book since I was about eight. I love the world of books so writing was a natural fit for me.

HH: How do you personally view the future of ebooks?

SY: I've totally and completely embraced ebooks. I prefer reading on my Kindle to a paper book. For me to actually purchase a paper book it has to be a super special book. So far, I haven't purchased any paperbacks in the last year since receiving my Kindle.

HH: How much of your day is devoted to your writing career?

SY: I work about 40 hours a week on a good week. Some times my life interrupts and I don't get in as much work, but I do try to spend about 8 hours a day writing. I do have a lot of books in the works on the verge of contracts.

HH: What's your favorite way to interact with readers?

SY: I love Facebook and Twitter. On Facebook you can find me https://www.facebook.com/sara.york1 and on twitter I'm at @sarayork.

HH: Any conference or appearance plans this fall?

SY: Right now I'm not planning on attending any conferences or having any appearances.

HH: Thank you!
