Kris Langley's life changes the moment she comes across an article about a twenty-five year old unsolved murder. She sees the possibility of solving the case as a way to appease the guilt she feels over her cousin's death when they were children. Her job as an editorial assistant allows her to access information about the case and gets some of those involved to speak with her. As she digs deeper into the mystery surrounding the murder, she runs into resistance from Eric Soares, the victim's nephew. Attraction blooms the longer they investigate together, and so does the danger to Kris.

Readers who enjoy a good murder mystery will be drawn into this story almost immediately. An unsolved murder always raises questions, and Kris's emotional involvement with the case is hard to ignore. Having suffered the tragedy of losing her cousin as a young girl helps Kris sympathize with the victim's family, and it gets them to trust her to handle the case, and possible news story, with sensitivity. Kris is an easy character to relate to and she will have readers cheering for her, especially when things start to heat up between her and Eric. Their individual family tragedies make them uniquely suited for each other and they fit together incredibly well. Eric is just the type of person Kris needs in her life. Though their initial encounters are somewhat hostile, that hostility soon turns to heat and mutual respect.

Stacy Juba has written a well-paced story that will keep readers guessing about who actually committed the crime and whether or not Kris will figure it out before something bad happens to her. There are enough twists, and possible suspects, in this story to make it entertaining and keep readers turning the pages all the way to its very satisfying end.
