Jodi Baker works in an online travel agency. Overqualified for the job she is, and a willing participant at the neighbourhood Ladies Night, on top of all hiding away a bit from life for the moment (that has to do with her losing her ex last year—yes, and a Hi-5 here!). He wasn’t worth much anyway! Anyway, our Jodi has a new co-worker. Quiet, unassuming, neat and tidy, Brent Davison. Jodi’s female co-workers think he is absolutely perfect for a little bet; a bet among gal pals. This one is interesting enough, inspiring enough, to get even the most shy of the group involved. But Jodi herself is another story; she’s going to hold out and see what happens as each of her pals tries to seduce the resident GQ clone, Brent.

Brent doesn’t have it easy. He’s been in his office half a day and the all-female work team haven’t been the slightest bit shy in their endeavours to “get” him. In fact, the feeling of piranhas nearing must be similar!

Loved the great camaraderie between all the women in the group, even though they had their ups and downs. It really came across well, with none of the cattiness one might expect; wonderful. The “blooming” that happened as each woman learned about herself, and that all due to Brent’s joining the office (a single Martian in the midst of all the Venusians), leaves such a picture of happiness; you just know things are going to work out for all. Thank goodness the emotional hang-ups (some more serious than others) each has, work out along the way. A wonderful tale!
