| Seven years ago, Clarissa Miles sold her soul in order to save her father. Now the demon has come to claim her. Knowing she has seven days left to live, she wants to leave the world with no regrets. So giving in to her werewolf familiar isn't a hardship. In fact, it's exactly what she needs to do instead of thinking about what the future holds for her.
Logan Scott knows Clarissa is his destined mate and now that ban of witch/familiar fraternising has been lifted, he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Knowing she's hiding something, Logan doesn't push at first but when he sees her with someone else, he launches a full-on sensual assault that is bound to get her right where he wants her -– in his bed. Again, Jodi Redford has penned an outstanding story involving witches, their familiars and forbidden love. The plot was enthralling with Clarissa knowing she only had a short time to live, so why not live it with no regrets by giving in to her attraction for Logan? I enjoyed the playful dialogue which when, combined with Logan's need for endearments when it came to conversing with Clarissa, was downright sinful, making me wonder how Clarissa could have resisted his charms for so long. What I liked so much about Clarissa was her determination to go through with the contract she made so long ago, even though she had her love for Logan to fight for. While with Logan, I liked his tenacity for showing Clarissa that she's always been his, although she never gave in to temptation in the seven years since forging the bond of witch and familiar. Overall, this is the second novel in the That Old Black Magic series by this author and contains some hot and heavy sex scenes that would make many women want a lover like Logan. Lastly though, I recommend to all that they read the first one in this series -– That Voodoo You Do -– before delving into this adventure because it reveals the forbidden relationship of witch and familiar and introduces Logan and Clarissa.
