| If there's one thing Eva wants in life, it's for Joseph to stay away from her, especially after he broke her heart when he slept with another woman in their bed. But things aren't always what they seem, and it's a case of he says, she says that may have her questioning herself before too long, especially when there's a threat to her life hanging over her head.
Joseph is still reeling from his break-up with Eva, even though he can fathom why she's so upset. Yet there's something she doesn't realise, he didn't do the thing she believes -- he never slept with another woman. In fact, his side of the story is a whole lot different and when Eva's father calls him in to protect her, he can't turn his back. The plot of this book was outstanding, and gripped my interest from the very beginning with such animosity between Joseph and Eva's father when they're having a discussion concerning Eva's welfare and Joseph being the only man qualified enough to keep her safe. It showed how much Joseph still cared for Eva, even when her father wouldn't allow any interaction between the pair. Then there's the dialogue, which I thought was so dynamic because of the hostility between Eva and Joseph; although it was more on Eva's part at the beginning then Joseph's all because of their break-up and the reasons behind it. The sex scenes were hot, and proved how much these two were in love with each other despite what had happened in the past. What I liked so much about the heroine was although she tried to hate Joseph for what she believed he did, she couldn't. While with Joseph, I liked that he wouldn't allow Eva to turn him away and that he would do anything to protect her by pushing her to her limits and beyond. Overall, this book was a fantastic read, of which I really loved the ending because it illustrated that love really does conquer all. And I would recommend this book to all readers who enjoy a good amount of suspense mingled with a whole lot of romance.
