| What's a woman to do when she finds herself in a comprising position after saving a man from certain death? She's forced to marry him, of course. That's the predicament Colleen MacGregor finds herself in. She values her independence and is unhappy with the situation. Sebastian Ware has no desire to get married again after the disaster with his first marriage, but wishes to do the right thing. Will Colleen and Sebastian be able to put their differences aside to make their marriage work? In the meantime, someone is out to kill them and Sebastian needs to find out who before it's too late.
This was a cute and humorous romance. I liked the interactions with Colleen and Sebastian, though I thought the chemistry was lacking at times. Due to their past relationships, I understood the need for them to be wary with each other, but it was somewhat frustrating. The family dynamic of Sebastian's mother and sister brought some levity to the story and they did everything in their power to make Colleen feel welcome. I also enjoyed the mystery aspect of the story. I thought I knew who the killer was from the beginning and I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong. If you are looking for historical romantic suspense, then The Accidental Countess is a good choice.
