Moira has magical powers that sometimes allows her to feel things that other people can't. When she starts having psychic attacks, she hopes that they will go away without her having to do anything. The excruciating pain that sometimes causes her to pass out doesn't go away though, even with all her herbal treatments. So she decides to go and find out what is causing them by first finding one of the men that features prominently in the vision she has before she gets the attacks, Dain.

Dain is known for being a madman with strong magic. He had come home to his wife after a long war to find her cheating on him, and in a jealous rage ends up killing her magically. He's lived with the guilt of that day ever since, causing him to do things to make other people leave him for fear of harming them with his magic if he gets mad. When he meets Moira at the gate, he is in disbelief of her instant conviction that he didn't kill his wife. He can't believe that she will not leave, and sends her on her way. He doesn't count on her sheer stubbornness, and her need to understand what is happening to her.

Dain is a tortured man that sees no good in the world after he thinks he's killed his wife, even if he did find her cheating on him. Seeing Moira and feeling the attraction for her scares him even more. What if he hurts her? Moira knows after meeting the infamous lord that there is no way that he could have actually killed his wife. He just doesn't have it in him, and she can feel that through her empathic abilities. I liked the two characters a lot, and thought that they were great to read about. I could have done without the addition of Killian, Dain's brother getting involved in their relationship, but it still works. The sex between them was red hot, with some m/f/m action and a little bit of bondage. I liked Moira being a strong woman in her own right, willing to do what she must. She seemed to be more mature than the normal young heroine, and that was a nice change of pace. I definitely recommend that you give A Change of Season a try, it's a sexy, magical story that will leave you wanting more.
