Ms. Donohue has managed, with Adored, to write 100 plus pages of great sex - without it becoming boring or repetitive. However, the love scenes don't eclipse the underlining story, which is a unique twist on a familiar scenario. The author kept the secondary characters to a minimum - although I liked the few she did introduce - and kept the main focus on the hero and heroine. Adam was wonderfully complex - he was the typical dominant male in some respects, but he had some insecurities and was able to be vulnerable as well. His motivations were easily understandable and we weren't left trying to figure out what he thought about things. Danni was dealing with issues of her own, which caused her to make the decisions she did. Basically, the characters were fairly well-rounded and stayed true to who they were. The pacing was consistent, and there was some humor as well. The dialog was done well, and the story was believable. The end result? An engaging tale filled with serious emotions, lighthearted moments, and incredible sex.
