| Unlike other dragons, Patch loves to live alone, and he quietly enjoys the maidens that the local village send him every twenty years or so. It's nice to be able to help the young girls start a better life away from villagers who would willingly sacrifice their young to be eaten by a dragon.
Finding Jon beaten and tied outside his cave didn't stop Patch from realising that Jon was his mate. What he didn't know is that Jon was used by thieves determined to find the dragon's lair and his treasure. Patch is a solitary creature, who likes reading and although not happy with cold weather has found peace in his home above the village. He did not realise how much he needed a mate until he found his and then nearly lost him again. An angry dragon is a destructive animal and Jon soon learns all he needs to know about dragon life. As a lover of men, Jon has never fit in. His secret has always kept him apart from others especially when his life was in jeopardy if anyone found out. I love dragons -- the magic and the loyalty. There really isn't anything sexier. The first book in Ms. Austin's new Dragon's Mates series has all this an add sparkle that comes from the love only a true mate can bring.
