| Lily has never really bonded with anyone; instead, the mousey American school teacher chose to dive into teaching career. One thing she has always desired was to take an ‘Among the Stones’ tour. After saving pennies, she finally is able to fulfill her dreams by taking a trip to England. Once she arrives and gets settled in at the quaint bed and breakfast and begins her tour, she is mesmerized by the prehistoric site. Alan, their tour guide, is not only very helpful but takes an interest in Lily. They seem to hit if off well. After Lily begins her own little exploration of the stones, she is taken back when she walks among the stones getting a feel of everything but when a dizzy spells suddenly captures her, she finds herself in another era of Stonehenge where she comes across Meenah and Toolar. At night Lily is so exhausted with her tour, that Meenah and Toolar come to her in her dreams, telling her their love story. The dreams have a tendency to make her feel very lethargic and Alan begins to worry about her. When Alan is not on one of his tours, it seems that they are always joined to the hip. After Alan begins having his own dreams, it seems he and Lily may have found their own true love.
Among the Stones will send shivers to the heart and flesh, while forming tears to mist. This is one story that is so visual; so detailed, that everything seems to leap from the pages. The emotions and feelings of the characters can be felt. Lily is a wonderful and refreshing character and even when she was becoming so exhausted from the dreams, this reader could almost sense her experiences. Lizzie T. Leaf spins a great tale that truly is magnificent. She creates delightful characters that come to life and make this story so believable and enjoyable.
