Ever since her ex-boyfriend Sully Hero moved back to Hideaway, Maine, Jenna MacLean can't stop fantasizing about him. Her best friend convinces Jenna to write a want ad for her fantasy man, all in the name of fun. However, when the ad falls into the hands of Sully, the man the ad is modeled after, Jenna is embarrassed, but also a bit excited to see if perhaps the ad will help her earn a second chance with Sully.

Even when he was in space working for NASA, Sully Hero couldn't get Jenna out of his head. Back in Hideaway, he's determined to win her over again. He hopes that this time, her jealousy and her prudish sexual behavior won't drive him away again. However, when he finds the note, Sully is most pleasantly surprised. He's more than sure that Jenna is the woman for him, and with the help of the Ménage Club, a club designed to reunite old lovers, Sully is sure that this time Jenna will be in his life permanently. Has Jenna changed enough to accept the erotic climate of the Ménage Club, or will she let fear drive her away from Sully once again?

A Hero Needed is one of my favorite types of romance stories. Watching ex-lovers reunite and fall back in love, to form an even stronger relationship, is always a pleasure and Jan Springer's story is no exception. Sully and Jenna have a lot of issues to work out, but they do it rationally with the goal of love being the ultimate achievement. Their sparring and heated encounters help to increase the emotional tension of the story. Jan Springer does a first-class job of exploring the highs and lows of their relationship, using their past to produce change in Sully and Jenna's present situation. The idea of the Ménage Club was exciting and really helped to solidify Jenna and Sully's love. If you like your stories hot but with an intriguing romance that keeps you hooked, you won't go wrong with A Hero Needed.
