| Liv and Alex have grown complacent with their lives after many years of marriage. Liv makes a proposal to Alex based on their youthful fantasies. Alex accepts and as he and Liv begin to recapture their lost feelings, their deceased neighbor's nephew moves in next door and adds a whole new dimension to their plan. It isn't long before they are all involved in a plot that could end one of their lives.
Jo Davis is a favorite author of mine for her romantic suspense novels. Her first foray into erotic romance shows she is capable of exponentially turning up the heat while giving us the suspense she is known for. This book is intense, erotic, suspenseful, and touches on some controversial subject matter. I'll admit when I first started reading this book I had doubts about whether I would like the book based on the subject matter. I wasn't sure how I felt about Liv's plan to spice up their marriage but as I read further I realized exactly how it would work. Her character is very strong and capable, yet she retains the gentleness of her sex. Alex is a hound dog who desperately loves his wife and willingly goes along with her plan. His reaction to Liv's part of the plan redeemed him in my eyes. The story hooked me from the first page and I had to keep reading. I was shocked, aroused, angry, sad and emotionally drained after I finished reading the book. Remember, this is an erotic romance so be prepared for an anything goes experience -- ménage and more in all forms, BDSM, m/m, and voyeurism. The suspense line of the story gave it a touch of realism and didn't detract from the intense sexual encounters that are numerous throughout the book. I was definitely pleased with how the book ended and look forward to more romance from this author, whether it's suspense or erotic.
