| Rayne is on a team working to understand an alien species and her part of it is studying their sexual habits. When her boss hires her ex to help, she’s humiliated. Especially when she learned that he was hired because the leader of the group thought that Ken would add a depth of emotion that Rayne lacked. The worst part about it is that Rayne is starting to believe that there is something to that theory. She doesn’t know what is wrong with her, only that she can’t be satisfied by “normal” means. When she finally gets to meet the aliens, she’s intensely attracted to one named Tai’en, but knows that nothing can happen between them because of the differences in their culture. Or can it? She’s hoping it can when her friend Ez’iri agrees to a trade, she starts to think that at least one time she will get what she wants.
Rayne and Tai’en have a great chemistry together but it doesn’t really show until nearly the end of the story. Most of the story is about Rayne, and how her life isn’t the greatest until she meets the aliens of her dreams. Told from her point of view, there are some really sexy scenes that bring out the “best” in her sexuality when the trade she makes with Ez’iri ends up being more than she bargained for. I thought the interaction between Rayne and Ez’iri, Tai’en’s sister was a great part of the story, and very touching. Alien Communion is a wonderful story that has a lot of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and is definitely one to pick up if you want to try something a little out of the ordinary.
