For Amelia Ryan the planet Plasius has been a sanctuary from Earth's fanatically religious government.  The leaders of the planet have also embraced her artwork, making her a celebrity. Now if only she can get used to how much the Plasians encourage and, in fact, revel in the pleasures of the body. That's so alien to how she was raised on Earth. In fact, the Plasian Ambassador actively tries to encourage her to explore the attraction between her and a Kalquorian clan of three who attend a reception that's being held for her. But with Earth's hostilities towards the Kalquorians, that could put her in a really difficult spot. In fact, it could even be her death sentence.  But the Kalquorians are determined that she's the one to be their Matara and they'll do anything they can to convince her that they're the ones for her too.  Now all they have to do is keep her alive, evade the Earthlings sent by her government to punish her, and take her away from them. Plus there's that little issue of staying alive...

Okay I know I've said this before, but I really love the Kalquorians and the stories they're in.  This one is a great addition to the series, and yes, it's part of a series. But to me, the stories can easily be read on their own since any of the common threads get explained in each book.  This book has another wonderfully dominant Kalquorian clan. Amelia is a strong woman who gives them a run for their money.  It's really a great time watching them battle to see who's going to get their way or if they can all find amazing happiness together if they give it a chance.  Not to mention the absolutely sizzling hot sex scenes. This clan would be really tempting if I was the one they were pursuing, so my husband is very relieved it's just a book. But it's definitely going into the favorites category to be read again!
