| Former Miss Texas Delaney Davis-Daniels is going through a bitter divorce
from her billionaire husband J. D. For the first time in her life, she is
going to do what she wants not everyone else. She knows the rules
and one of them is not to have sex with a stranger, especially if he is
your husband's divorce attorney. Lucas Church knows that having an affair
with J.D.'s almost ex-wife is a bad idea, but he can't keep his hands off
her. When J. D. is found dead and Delaney is the prime suspect, Lucas
knows that he has to help her.
Remember The Alimony was a hugely fun book. Delaney and Lucas are two wonderful characters who are well-written and love each other. Delaney is a smart woman who knows that she is considered dumb because of her years on the beauty club circuit. Lucas thinks the same until he gets to know her better. There are a number of secondary characters who flesh out the plot and add interest. Along with the continuing love story, the mystery of J.D.'s murder keeps the plot moving. Delaney and Lucas have some non-graphic sexual encounters, each of which pull them deeper in love. The plot was easy to follow, with nothing ruining it. I enjoyed Ms. True's book a great deal and I think that you will also.
