Heatherlee Baronova should have suspected that her late husband Yuri made too good a living as a jewelry salesman. He was able to pay off their fancy home and his sudden death left her enough money to start a pricey spa. When recently released jailbird Svetlana Kessk arrives demanding the key to the fortune she claims Yuri owes her, Heatherlee starts to realize the truth.

Heatherlee's spa, Clearwater, is robbed. The police investigation is headed by Sheriff Marc Duarte. He's a Basque sheep rancher with a hoity-toity mother who wants him to reconcile with his ex. And Heatherlee has lusted after him since high school.

Heatherlee is the devoted mother of twins, conceived with husband Yuri's sperm after his apparent heart attack. Marc has big desires to be a family man.

The twins are kidnapped, the Russians go after their treasure, and a surprising villain haunts Heatherlee.

Perfect three-year-old toddlers, perfect puppies, perfect kittens...author Rowland seems to have babies on the brain. There is no real peril here, but the romance is sweet and entertaining. There is not enough conflict to sustain the category of romantic suspense. It seems Heatherlee is not in mortal danger, only in danger of losing her status in the community. And she needs to win over a potential mother-in-law with who has plans of her own. This scores as a sweet romance, but the family friend and PI, Leviticus Blake has little to unearth and the bad guys leave the plot for a long time in the middle of the story. I didn't realize mobsters were so patient!
