Reeling from a failed engagement and trying to find her own way in the scientific world, Dr. Victoria Sheffield seeks refuge - a place that needs her as much as she needs it. Using her own money but pretending it's a grant, and banking on her father's name, Victoria plans on showing the world her worth.

Jack Benton is an undercover agent who sits at home recuperating after an in-the-line-of-duty incident. He is trying to help his aunt decide what to do with her failing marine center. He knows that selling it could bring them out of potential bankruptcy and also help provide a home for the dolphins that are like family to his Aunt Ruby. Unbeknownst to him, his aunt has made plans to save her dolphins and they include a research marine scientist named Dr. Vic Sheffield. What puzzles Jack is why would a world-renowned scientist want to use a small broken-down family facility in the Florida Keys to study dolphins?

When Dr. Victoria Sheffield shows up, it all begins to get a little clearer and A LOT more complicated. Jack wants to know what her motives are, and why a smart beautiful woman is pretending to be someone she isn't.

What happens if the money runs out? Can Jack and Victoria avoid the attraction that springs up between them as well as the questions about their intentions?

This is an excellent story. It is filled with emotion, poignancy, interesting dolphin facts and humor… and even a little bit of intrigue. Definitely a recommended read! Victoria is searching for acceptance as not only a scientist but as a person. Jack is at the crossroads of his life, and Aunt Ruby is there cheering them on and lending support - all in the beautiful Keys of Florida!
