On a stormy night, Dr. Jason Tuck decided to take a detour home. As he turned onto a dark side street, a woman darted out in front of his vehicle. He managed to stop, jumped out of the car, and ran to try to check her for injuries. Instead of taking her to the local hospital, he returned to Roseport Clinic where he was on the staff. Six months later, she still had no memory of her past, but she was enamored with Jason.

Jason was well into the love stage with the woman they called Rayne Doe. Rayne struggled to not allow him to see she also had feelings for him because he was being hounded by his “ex” girlfriend (of 6 years). Jason had broken up with her, but Lisa was determined to not give up the money a life with Jason would provide.

Marie Rochelle has again written a captivating story about a black woman and a white man. The sensual tension was enchanting and it was impossible to put the book down. As is expected with a Rochelle novel, the storyline was complex and wonderfully written. Her two main characters were so realistic, totally interested in each other, and yet they were being put to tests having to deal with the arrogant Lisa.

Lisa’s characterization was the kind you love to hate, but was so well presented that she added much to the plot and the way this book was written. Rochelle has quickly become a “must read” for me. I cannot get enough of her books. I like her style. This book, however, had a sweeter tone than usual for her. That does not minimize the impact of the book. It just shows her diversity. She doesn’t write cookie-cutter style. She’s a great author and this latest read is proof positive of that.

I recommend you read this book. You will quickly become a fan too.
