While waiting in her shop for someone from the State Department on a dark stormy night Kate is startled when the door of her shop opens and a man falls unto the main lobby. As the flash of lighting cuts through the air she notices a shiny object clutched in his hand. She's startled when she hears a voice from her past. Jake Elliot is the State Department agent who comes into her life and starts a series of memories she had tried to forget when her husband died.

Starting with the death of the man who stumbled into her shop a series of events begins that all point to the fact that someone is after something she has. Yet she had no idea what it is. The story is fast -paced and takes the reader through the world of gems, stolen jewels and the mysterious golden egg that holds the secret many would give a King's ransom for.

The author strategically places twists and turns in the plot that hold one's interest and a few surprises that one doesn't expect. A wonderful read for anyone who enjoys a good book!
