Joshua planned the vacation he's going to be taking with his partner, Ciro. He found a small resort in a little town where they could spend a few days just being together. Ciro is a micro-managing, work-a-holic who sometimes forgets to put Joshua first. When Joshua is finishing his packing, Ciro comes in dressed for work which leads to them having a fight. Joshua is so tired of not being first in Ciro's life.

Joshua and Ciro are very much in love. I don't doubt that at any point in this story. Their fight ends with Joshua deciding to go on the vacation alone, leaving his partner to go to his job. At this point in the story, it's all Joshua and his drive to the resort. After he arrives there and checks in, we switch to Ciro in his office. I almost feel sorry for him. He feels terrible about the fight, for Joshua going without him and he's afraid he has lost Joshua altogether. He tells his assistant to cancel his meetings and follows Joshua.

This is such a sweet story. The author team does a wonderful job with the pain and heartbreak as well as the love and tenderness. I enjoyed the story very much, Joshua and Ciro were pretty cool heroes, I just wish it had been a little longer with more story to it. This is the first in the Dear Lake, Michigan series and I definitely want to read the next one!
