Estela/Jacie is a woman on the run, trying to start a new life and hiding a tragic secret. She's an intelligent woman trying to make it in what is usually a world reserved for men. Gabriel is successful in business, but tries to avoid his family. He is also trying to solve the murder of his friends. Estela seems to be involved somehow. The more he knows about her, the more convinced he is of her guilt. But, he can't seem to stay away from Estela and every touch makes him desire her more.

I was drawn into Jacie's story right away. I wanted to find out what her secret was and see justice done. The combination of her strong intellect and naiveté about love make her a very compelling character. She and Gabriel are both independent and determined, which makes the sparks fly between them. The journey they share discovering each other and learning what it is to love someone are very tender, yet make the blood boil.

The story was the right length, not too long or too short. You get to know the main characters and enough of their backgrounds to know what made them who they are. The secondary characters were necessary for this and helped the flow of the book. The setting in London was also fitting for this tale. It gave Jacie the opportunity to become stronger and grow personally. She needed a city setting to do this, it just wouldn't have worked the same way in a small town.

I like the authors writing style and hope to read more of their work. I highly recommend, you'll be involved from the first page to the last.
